Question about Autotek XS-900.2 Car Audio Amplifier

1 Answer

Help me hey i have an autotek xs-1500.1 stealth amp. im not exactly to sure whats wrong it but i can hook the pos and neg up and it wont do anything but as soon as i hook up the rem it'll start to whistle and the power wire going to the board will get extremly hot and start to mel the solder i cant figure it out. it'll only do it when the rem is hooked up. the only thing i can think of is that either the rem is grounding out or the relay is shorting out along the line.                                                                                                                                                                 please message me at

If the wire is getting hot, the fuse in it is too large and you're in danger of burning your car to the ground.

Generally, if the amp draws excessive current only AFTER remote is applied, the output transistors have failed. If solder has melted, it may have bridged other traces and could cause more extensive damage.

How do you wire up 4 6 volt batteries in a 1976 kenworth. 12 volt lights 24 volt starter

When you go pos to neg from one battery to the next it increases voltage, pos to pos just increases amperage. You would want to wire 2 in series, just imagine stacking batteries in a flash light, pos from one to neg on next. Remaining pos and neg are 12v now. Run both remaining pos to starter and ground both negs. your pushing a lot of amps with the batteries and doing 12v, and your charging system is 12v. If you do another series from there, you have to regulate the voltage when the starter kicks risk burning every light and electric component...just like running 12v in 6v system... You can also use 4 12v batteries and run all pos to pos and all neg to neg and have mega cranking amps...that is how all modern big trucks are set up. Your pushing around 7k cranking amps that way(1500 per battery)...plenty to start the healthiest cat... And don't have the worry of dual voltages or running in series. You really don't need 24v to start and unless you have a 24v alternator, these are your 2 options. Best bet if your not sure is to try with risk of frying anything even on 24v system. 24v on 12v system is, on the other hand, a big risk. 43bf17ec-4e37-4a15-a147-d1e7a1377d9f.jpg

series is a straight line and parallel is is a big x. come into the connection pos and neg from there hook that to the pos and neg on one side of the dvc.on the speaker take the pos to the open neg and the neg to the open pos

I bought a 500/1 jl audio amp and also a w7 10 sub

if its cutting off and right back on then check your ground and your power wire makes sure both are connected good and none of your fuse's are blown, either that or you got a wire hooked up backwards in the sub.. but my guess is that the sub is hooked up wrong... that sub should be hooked up in a series or in parallel,

ok if your running just one speaker, it should be hooked up like this and 2 speakers are a different way...

this is parallel :pos to pos , neg to neg, then one wire coming from pos on sub to pos on amp then neg on sub to neg on amp but bridge the amp on your amp should be 2 pos and 2 neg in two different channels take the pos off the sub into the pos on 1 channel and then the neg from sub to the neg on the other channel,

this is series : on the sub it will go pos to neg then the other neg and pos will go to the amp, but make sure the pos and neg r on different sides of the sub, dont hook them both to the same coil

if your need more help give me your email and ill send you a pic of how to do it...

one wire to pos to amp plus to speaker one. now secound speker use neg. to neg. on amp. now take a speaker wire and hook up the remaining neg. post. on the spekers. This will run them in seris like my 4000watt rms amp at a 2 ohm load. Make sur your speakers can handel the rms load of amp. If not they will blow.
