Question about Alpine MRP-M350 Car Audio Amplifier
i've got a pioneer 10" w/ an alpine MRP-M350. When i first installed it everything was great and i was pretty amazed with what i was getting out of them for the price i paid. My friend just recently bought 2 Alpine Type S 12" subs with some boss amp and wanted to put them in my car as his was not ready for them yet so we could try them. So i disconnected mine (i have a station wagon btw) and put his in the back and hooked them up. I left my sub in, and i organised them so they were facing each other thinking nothing of it. Left them in for a couple of days..pretty much had them cranked...and noticed that my sub moved a fair bit even though it wasn't connected. Now i went to hook mine back up the other day...and it seems like theres no way near as much power compared to what there used to be. i know it may be a big difference in sound compared to the 12's...but i still used to get some volume out of the 10". I also had to re-solder the RCA cables as one was a bit flimsy. Could it be that because i had the 12's facing my sub that it's affected it? somebody said something about demagnitization? or could it just be that i need to replace the RCA cables?
The woofer was not demagnetized.
If one signal cable is damaged, it could reduce the signal getting to the amplifier and could reduce the output.
Plug one RCA plug in at a time to confirm that both are working properly. If one is lower or not working, the cable may be defective.
If both work properly, double-check the settings on the head unit (sub-out, bass, crossover frequency...)
