Why does my show green light then red light the whole time when i switched it on

It indicates that the TV is not receiving enough power to operate normally.

  • The power cord or outlet might be faulty or loose. Try plugging the TV into a different outlet or using a different power cord. Make sure the cord is firmly connected to the TV and the outlet.
  • The TV might have a blown fuse or capacitor. This would require opening the TV and replacing the damaged component. This is a risky and complicated procedure that should only be done by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to do this yourself unless you have the necessary skills and tools.
  • The TV might have a software glitch. Try resetting the TV to its factory settings by following these steps:
    1. Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Press and hold the power button on the TV for 10 seconds.
    3. Plug the TV back in and turn it on.
    4. If the TV shows a menu, select the option to restore factory settings. If the TV does not show a menu, repeat steps 1-3 until it does.

My red standby light on my samsung qn75q7famfxza QLED is off but turns on when I wiggle my tv

Based on the symptoms you described, it sounds like there could be a loose or faulty connection somewhere in the power supply of your TV. A power supply issue could be causing the TV to not turn on and the red standby light to not be on, and the fact that wiggling the TV allows you to turn it on and get the red light on, is a strong indication of this. Here are a few potential solutions to try:
  1. Check the power cable: Make sure that the power cable is securely plugged in to both the TV and the wall outlet. If the cable is loose or damaged, it could be causing the connection issues.
  2. Check the wall outlet: Make sure that the wall outlet you are using is working properly. Try plugging in a different device to the outlet to ensure that it is providing power.
  3. Inspect the power supply: Inspect the power supply for any visible signs of damage, such as burn marks or loose components. If you notice any damage, it's best to have the TV serviced by a professional
  4. Re-solder the power supply: It's possible that the problem is caused by a loose or broken soldered connection on the power supply board. This would require re-soldering the connections. This is a complex repair and it's best to have it done by a professional technician.
  5. Replace the power supply: If the problem is determined to be a faulty power supply, it would need to be replaced.
It's always best to have a professional technician diagnose the issue as it requires proper diagnostic tools and expertise to know for sure what is causing the problem and provide a proper solution.

Turned my TV on today..it went off and I can't get it to power up again. Red light power button is not showing the TV is off..

Have you tried to unplug the cord from the back of the TV and outlet for 20 seconds and plug it back together and power it back on? I usually have the same issue on a Vizio TV.

Plasma Panasonic TV stopped working

Lightning-damaged electronics are a gamble to repair. Sometimes the problem is a single component, but more often multiple components are damaged, and even if you get it working, something else may die shortly thereafter. If you are lucky, only one board was damaged. My recommendation, if you have homeowner's or renter's insurance, is to put in a claim for the TV and get it replaced.

Having put forth that caveat, the blinking red LED hints that you may have enough left of the set for it to be repairable, especially given that much of a plasma set is already built to cope with high voltages. Try downloading a service manual and following the troubleshooting procedure. Here's the link (it's a Hungarian site, but there's enough English available to find things):

MY 42 IN POLARIOD TV WILL NOT COME ON AND THEIR IS NO RED LIGHT TO SHOW THE POWER IS ON TRIED DIFFERENT OUTLETS

Do other devices work in these outlets?

If so, then you've blown your power supply. Power supplies are relatively cheap and contacting your local TV repair shop will get you an estimate for repair.

If no other devices work in the outlets you're trying, you probably tripped a breaker.

I pressed the power button, but the tv wont turn on

Please check if the power cord is connected properly in the wall outlet and in the TV. Check the wall outlet. Has it got power? Check if there is red light when the power is switched on at the wall outlet. If there is red light then press the power button. Does the TV turn on? If not then your power button is defective and requires replacement as it is not making contact. Also please try to start your TV WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL. At times it helps.

TV will not turn on, no red light

First make sure that it is plugged and properly connected to the power source. If it's properly plugged in and you still don't get the red light, check the power outlet by looking at your circuit breaker. Make sure that the breaker supplying the outlet for your television is turned on. If not, reset the breaker by turning it off and then turn it on again. Bottom line is, if you do not have a red standby light, it is most likely that you are not getting any electric supply to your tv.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
