Re: sansa e280 8gb white screen with black spot

Hi, I got the exact same problem, contacted Sandisk, the first few times, they told me to re-format the player (with the recovery thing... did that about 10 times, never worked). Now Sandisk stopped replying to my e-mails and I am stuck with an MP3 player that dosent work. Was anyone able to fix the problem ?

Re: sansa e280 8gb white screen with black spot

It sounds like some data corruption.

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Is the product still under warranty? If yes, i suggest to bring it to the store where you boughy it or to its centers to change it to a new one. Screen problem needs to be checkecd by a technicians for possible screen replacement.

The Sansa, in common with many devices which have been around for a while, will only recognize standard micro SD up to 2 GB, not the SDHC (High Capacity) variety.

Can my screen be fixed

Now let's get real.
This is not a warranty repair which SANDISK would likely repair.
It would never be worth it to get it fixed.
Invest in an IPOD, and don't drop or set on that or mother will be mad.

Repeating Screen HELP

I got mine to work.  This may only be applicable to the e200R (RHAPSODY) version of the Sansa.

Step 1:  Follow this link first and follow the directions:

I didn't know where to get the ROM file so I left it out (I only created the sansa.fmt file got the MI4 file).  That brings me to...

Step 2:  Follow this link if you get a "Load main image failed Switch to recovery mode" error message:

It's very important that on step 8, after you turn it off and it is beginning to reboot, that you reset the Hold button so that it isn't showing orange anymore.

Not as hard as it seems!
