It is generally a good idea on urban and suburban roads, to give plenty of space in front. For example, on dry roads, you can leave approximately 1 metre (1 yard) for every one mile per hour, of your speed.

At 30 mph you will be 30 metres away from the guy in front. Enough to encompass the suggested overall stopping distance published in the Highway Code.

Interceptor float tip

If you use interceptor floats and find them hard to see at a distance try drilling the top the diameter to take the width of a float and insert the top of an ordinary float into it with a bit of superglue it only needs to stand out from it about 22mm because if you make it too long t will tip over sideways. You will find it will stand out and you will be able to see it at a distance.Make sure you pick a suitable colour that you can see.

Tips for long-distance cycling

.1. Keep it cheap. Expensive bicycles with top-of-the-range parts can be a disadvantage if, for instance, they break in rural Turkey where there's no hope of finding suitable spare parts.

2. Set off with a little bit too much. You can always sell or give away things en route if the going gets tough.

3. Save yourself the pain. Buy a second-hand saddle that's already been worn in by someone else.

4. It doesn't have to be steel. Aluminium-frame bicycles are cheaper, lighter and strong enough for the job, providing you ride sensibly.

5. Travel with four panniers. This requires having both front and back frames fitted to your bicycle. Cycling with a rucksack is a sure route to back pain and misery, while towing a trailer means two extra wheels that could suffer punctures.

6. Schrader tyre valves, also known as "car-type" valves, are more practical than presta valves as they can be inflated at any garage.

7. Get a Visa debit card. These are accepted in far more cash machines than any others.

8. See crazyguyonabike.com, where you can find dozens of articles about long-distance journeys, as well as discussion forums and reviews.

9. Most importantly of all, you don't need to be called Lance Armstrong. Most of the cyclists I met during my journey had no previous cycling experience. It didn't stop them. It won't stop you.

What oil do i put in a 1996 ford courier 2.6 petrol

you did not post in what country and what climate,

if you are in oz, then any oil sae10-40, it is suitable year round,

if you live somewhere where water freeze in winter then winter oil should be sae 5-30, or sae5-40, summer should be sae 10-40,

if you live in tropics where temperature constantly exceed 35c (95f), then oil used should be sae15-60 or even sae20-60.

any brand will do, my preference is semi-synthetics in cars made after 1985, if car is working hard - towing, driving daily short distances - i do change oil and oil filter every 5000km (3000miles), if it is driven regularly and in light conditions you can double these distances.

if you find this answer helpful - why do not vote for it?

VW Passat Estate on Alloy wheels with 235/45/ZR17 tyres. want to find winter tyre suitable for 16 inch steel rim for same vehicle. Steel rim is marked 61x2JX16H2

okay, 235 is the tread width 45 is the profile(the distance from the wheel to the road)ZR is the speed rating(over 120mph)17 is the wheel diameter.so to get the same tread width 225 would fit(cheaper than 235)45 needs to be thicker cos of 16" not 17" wheels and 1"=25.4mm 75 would be the choice.because winter tyres are designed for speeds less than 70mph "R" would be suitable.
all together 225/ 75(or 85) R 16.....SNOW TYRE/WINTER TREAD.
PLEASE LEAVE FEED BACK.

What size duct do I need

there are online formula to calculate what you want
google ---formula to calculate air flow in pipes--
calculation will have to allow for the turbulence and restriction caused by the spiral construction of the tubing and the bends involved so you may have to incorporate several formulas to get the desired result
distance is critical as there are frictional coefficients to be considered as well
I would consider from large shop air circulation systems (as you see in Aldi, woolworths , sears etc ) that a staged diameter difference from motor to exhaust point be considered as that will keep a steady air flow for the length of the tube and a hp rating of 3hp 3 phase as a minimum
Talk with the engineers of shop and factory air conditioner designers and installers to get a close idea to what would be suitable for you
