Will not take dvd

It sounds like the laser is either out of alignment, dirty, or unable to read the disc for one reason or another. Have you tried a DVD and a BluRay disc or only BluRay? What kind of player is it

insert a good quality dvd in the drive. If no response, go to my computer and select dvd drive and double click, it may open. GL

This is gonna be a bit complicated since were going to access your registry, but just follow all the steps and it will be much easier
>Click on START
>Type REGEDIT on the search bar on START Menu
>Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
>Expand SYSTEM
>Expand CurrentControlSet
>Expand Control
>Expand Class
>Click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
>Look for the Upper Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
>Look for the Lower Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
>Restart PC
>Try you CD / DVD ROM

If nothing happens, click on this link then click on RUN and follow the steps, then restart computer and try to run a disc again, if still nothing happens, theres a possibility that the problem is with the hardware side or the media player that you are you using...

You might have to open it up (assuming it's a desktop, not laptop) and make sure the cable is connected inside. The power might be connected, which lets you insert and eject discs, but the IDE (assuming it's IDE) cable also needs to be connected.

Hi, it sounds like a bad CD/DVD. The DVD drive has a small hole in the front that you can use a small paper clip or tool that has a small tip and insert it into the hole and it will eject the DVD drive drawer then you can try another DVD or CD. Make sure the DVD or CD is clean and there is no scratches on it. You can clean the DVD or CD with a soft clean cloth and even buff out small scratches. Hope that helped.

Have you done the proper connection ? Please check out the Power & Data cable inserted firmly in Hard Disk, and DVD rom, after then check out the jumper is inserted correctly.

Unplug the Ram for 5 minutes and then try to start PC. Hope this works. Let me know the status after then.

Check you scart lead at both ends

your dvd may have power to open up so that you can insert the cd but the only possible thing that i can suggest is that the cable attached to your dvd may be damaged or try checking if your computer recognizes your dvd and if its not recognized... it may have problems on the cable or the hardware itself.

time for a new machine

I purchased this RCA 8310 about 2 years ago. I have recoreded hundreds of dvd's. If I try to use anything but a Imation brand DVD+R, 8+ speed, I get the same error. It will not work with a 16+ dvd.
