Hi,

There are two versions of this model: 1. Systems with slotted processor, & 2. Systems with socketed processor. Pls verify your model and choose/download the appropriate Service Manual which would contain detailed instructions as to side panel removal.

Good luck and kind regards.

Before You Begin To make working inside your computer easier, make sure you have adequate lighting and a clean work space. If you temporarily disconnect cables or remove expansion cards, note the position of the connectors and slots so that you can reassemble the system correctly.
You will use the information in this section every time you install a hardware option inside your computer. Read this section carefully, because the information is not repeated in detail elsewhere in this guide.
Safety First-For You and Your Computer Working inside your computer is safe - if you observe the following precautions.
want to install more ram - warning.gif WARNING: WARNING FOR YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF YOUR EQUIPMENT Before starting to work on your computer, perform the following steps in the sequence indicated:

  1. Turn off your computer and all peripherals.
  2. Disconnect your computer and peripherals from their electrical outlets. Also, disconnect any telephone or telecommunication lines from the computer. Doing so reduces the potential for personal injury or shock.
  3. If you are disconnecting a peripheral from the computer or are removing a component from the system board, wait 5 seconds after turning off the computer before disconnecting the peripheral or removing the component to avoid possible damage to the system board.
  4. Touch an unpainted metal surface on the computer chassis, such as the power supply, before touching anything inside your computer. While you work, periodically touch an unpainted metal surface on the computer chassis to dissipate any static electricity that might harm internal components. Also avoid touching components or contacts on a card and avoid touching pins on a chip.
In addition, Dell recommends that you periodically review the safety instructions at the front of this guide.
Unpacking Your Hardware Option When you remove an option from its shipping carton, you may find it wrapped in antistatic packing material designed to protect it from electrostatic damage. Do not remove the packing material until you are ready to install the option.
caution.gif CAUTION: Turn off the computer and unplug it from the electrical outlet. See "Protecting Against Electrostatic Discharge" in the safety instructions at the front of this guide.
Removing the Computer Cover To remove the computer cover, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off your computer and peripherals, and observe the Warning for Your Personal Safety and Protection of Your Equipment described earlier in this chapter. Also observe the safety instructions at the front of this guide.
  2. If you have installed a padlock through the padlock ring on the cover and the back panel (see Figure 5-1), remove the padlock. Figure 5-1. Padlock Installed

    fig5-1.gif

  3. Remove the cover. Facing the left side cover, press the release button (located at the bottom-left corner of the front bezel) and lift the bottom of the cover, allowing it to pivot up toward you (see Figure 5-2).
Disengage the tabs that secure the cover to the top of the chassis, and lift the cover away.
Figure 5-2. Removing the Computer Coverfig5-2.gif
Replacing the Computer Cover To replace the computer cover, follow these steps:
  1. Check all cable connections, especially those that might have come loose during your work. Fold cables out of the way so that they do not catch on the computer cover. Make sure cables are not routed over the drive cage-they will prevent the cover from closing properly.
  2. Check to see that no tools or extra parts (including screws) are left inside the computer's chassis.
  3. Replace the cover. Facing the left side of the computer, hold the cover at a slight angle as shown in Figure 5-3, and then align the top of the cover with the top of the chassis. Insert the tabs on the cover into the recessed slots on the computer chassis so that the tabs catch the hooks inside the slots.
Pivot the cover down toward the bottom of the chassis and into position. Make sure that the securing hooks at the bottom of the cover click into place.
Figure 5-3. Rewant to install more ram - fig5-3.gife Computer Cover

    fig5-3.gif

  4. If you are using a padlock to secure your system, reinstall the padlock.
  5. Clear the chassis intrusion alert message. Enter the System Setup program and reset Chassis Intrusion to Not Detected. See "Chassis Intrusion" for instructions.

How do you install replacement memory to amilo pro series v2085 laptop

Most laptops have an access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Remove the screw on the panel and lift off the panel. The RAM module/s ia held in place by clips on the edge of the RAM module. Push the clips to the side and the RAM module will pop up at an angle and then pull the RAM module off the connector.
When you install the new RAM module/s just reverse the process of removing the RAM module/s.

I want to install memory and after taking off the two screws, the cover does not want to come off and I am concerned that I will break the tabs or something.

After removing the battery, get a suitable screwdriver (normally the philips head screwdriver) and unscrew the screws on the memory module(RAM) section.Push the cover back away from the side where the screws were. When you open the lid covering the section, you will see the original RAM installed inside. Remove the RAM by lightly pushing out the side panels. The RAM will pop up and in a slanted position (around 45 degree) and then proceed to pull the RAM out.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

Thanks, Joe

How can ichange memory & how to open computer

Turn your computer off, and disconnect the power-cord.

Look at the "back" of the desktop.

There will be screws holding the two side-panels in place.

Select the panel that is *FARTHEST* away from the many connections (keyboard, mouse, USB), and remove those screws.

Remove the side-panel.

Look for the stick(s) of RAM.

Count the number of "slots" for RAM.

Make a note of which slot(s) are in-use, and which are empty.

If you have "empty" slots, you can add sticks of RAM. Otherwise, you'll have to remove the RAM, and buy a bigger/better replacement (compare to replacing a bald car-tire with one with full-treads).

Disconnect all the cables from the desktop unit,
and take the computer to a computer-store.
They will check (online) to see the maximum amount of RAM that your Sony will support, and compare it to the current amount of RAM.
They will sell you "compatible" RAM, and probably, if you ask nicely, will install the RAM for you (it only takes 15 seconds). The "smaller" a computer-store that you pick, the more-likely that you'll get "free" installation, if you buy the RAM from them.

Where is the heater core located on a 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.2 318

This is to give you an idea where it's at (behind the dash) and what you would have to do to remove and replace it:

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
  3. If equipped with air conditioning, recover the refrigerant.
  4. Disconnect the liquid line refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube.
  5. Ram: remove the accumulator.
  6. Dakota, Durango: disconnect the accumulator inlet tube.
  7. Drain the cooling system.
  8. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.
  9. Ram: remove the powertrain control module from the dash panel. Disconnecting wiring is not necessary.
  10. Remove the four nuts from the heater–A/C mounting studs on the engine compartment side of the dash panel.
  11. Remove the nut(s) that secure(s) the heater–A/C housing mounting brace to the stud(s) on the passenger compartment side of the dash board.
  12. Pull the housing rearward far enough for the mounting studs and evaporator condensate drain tube to clear the dash panel holes.
  13. Remove the housing from the vehicle.
  14. Lift the heater core out of the housing.
  15. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove Dimension 2400 cover to install memory

The cover is normaly one of the side pannel board, u need to look for a screw that would keep it in place(look for a screw that will be afixed on the sidepanel with the back panel, once you have removed the screw just pull the side panel with force using a small hump that u may find on the side/back panel corner.
It's little trickey and need some concentration, u may find the RAM slot on the Motherboard (The RAM slot will be aprox 3 to 4 inch in length, the RAM goes in only in one way...)
hope this helps

How to upgrade acer aspire m1100 ram

It is actually pretty simple, just remove either screws or fasteners holding the case on. On that model it may even just be the side panel, which would be 2 screws/fasteners. Here is a video that explains the process. http://videos.howstuffworks.com/howstuffworks/26-how-to-install-ram-to-a-desktop-computer-video.htm Thanks,
