Epson Stylus Photo R320

My ink cartridges are all over half full, they were working fine.  Had not printed anything off the printer for about 3 weeks and then when I did everything printed pink????  I did a head clean, ran a nozzle check and still everything pink.  Any ideas as I'm sure lost

Each of the colors print on the nozel check??  This is why I am so puzzled to print a photo or anything it all comes out pink.

  • Tehya Oct 29, 2007

Yes, it does it no matter what program, I at first it thought it might be a program error issue but it makes no difference what program I use so that is why I am stumped.  I have not taken the printer out and re-entered the software because it was working fine and nothing had changed, no new programs, none taken out so I didn't think it was the software??

Dear theengel, I completely took out my printer (s) I have a HP printer and an epson which I use both so have them both installed.  I took both out and reinstalled them and now my color seems to be okay, I don't know if all of a sudden I had a conflict between the two or just a problem with the software for the Epson.  Thanks for suggesting to delete the printer and reinstall, it seems to have worked.

    Your GREAT!!

When you run the nozzel check, do each of the colors print out right, or just the magenta ones?

hmmm...this almost sounds like more of a software problem.  Does it do it no matter what program you use?  Also, somewhere in the print options, you should be able to choose print quality.  Make sure it's at photo instead of draft.

So just going through a few things here -

Uninstall your printer (go to the control panel, right click your printer, and delete).  Then unplug your printer, and reinstall your drivers.  Don't plug your printer back in till the computer asks you to.

Also, make a cyan colored box or letter or something and print it out.  Does it print out the solid pink or a very faded ink.

psst...can you mark that as solved?

    Thanx

Changed ink printer error on r320

Power off the printer, check for obstructions. Move the print head to the left side, then again check for obstructions. Make sure the cartridge cover is closed. Try to reinstall your inks, push them down the cartridge holder until they click.

Printing Streaky

Most likely the printer has been sitting for along time not used or you have used cheap replacement ink. Epsons are notorious for clogging the jets with cheap ink. unfortunately replacing the ink cartridges will not help because the jets are seperate from them. If cleaning numerous times does not work your next best bet is to buy a cleaning ink cartridge for your model. otherwise youll need a new printhead or new printer. If your going to use cheap replacement cartridges stay away from epson.

Change ink cartridge on epson stylus SX200 -printing head moves from side to side but then parks to the R and I cannot get access to change the cartridges.........

The ink cartridges are all separate so you press the cancel button (with no jobs pending) to bring the cartridge holder in to the right place open the holder remove the cartridge and then replace it, let the printer purge the cartridge then your good to go

New black ink cartridge won't print correctly

It can take some time to get the ink through.
I would suggest do the head clean at least 3 times if you then do a nozzle check and notice improvement then you are on track.
If it does not improve then it has been standing to long and not good news, this I am not willing to be the barer off.
(printer may need to go to heaven)
Keep in mind head cleaning is an ink eater so only do as you need.
Let me know how it goes.

Inaccurate color printed

Check the color profile settings for your printer. Also, make sure your not using any kind of draft mode. Are you using refilled cartridges or off-brand ink?

Ink not empty

You have confused the software in either changing a cartridge when not required or having a chip failure whilst changing multiple cartridges.
Full info on how to get out of this is on my site.

Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.

The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.

For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.

I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.

If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.

Happy trouble free printing
