Charging battery compaq presario c700

If you can reach inside the computer and rub the battery contacts gently to remove the corrosion ,which is invisible , this will help greatly. Sometimes even a new battery will suffer the same. Clean the battery contacts also turn off the laptop and charge it fully do this on a regular basis. Say once every 2 months

I bought new universal adapter for asus laptop and it charges batery just when laptop is turned off

Problem description: The battery charges only when the laptop turned off. The battery charge LED lights up as normal and the battery gets charged to 100% while the laptop is off.
When the laptop is turned on, the battery charge LED goes off even if the adapter is still plugged in.
Possible cause: 1. AC power adapter failure.
2. Battery failure.
3. Broken/loose power jack.
4. Motherboard failure.
Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solution: 1. This problem could be related to a faulty AC power adapter. It's possible that the AC adapter doesn't provide enough power when plugged into the laptop. To find out if this is your problem, you'll have to test the laptop with another working adapter.Replace the adapter if needed.
2. There is a slight chance that you have bad battery. Test the laptop with a know good battery and replace the faulty one if needed.
3. The battery charge problem could be related to the power jack. Maybe the jack is broken or not making good contact with the motherboard. It is necessary to remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. Resolder or replace the jack if needed.
4. If the power jack is in a good working shape and new power adapter with battery do not fix the problem, most likely you have a faulty motherboard. Replace the motherboard if needed.

I cannot switch on my laptop. it was working fine last night, but in the morning, my laptop refused to get switched on. nothing happens even if I press the on button, no blinking of anything, no booting,...

You might try to remove and reseat the battery. Jiggle the plug for your charger just to make sure that it can deliver charge to your computer.

You may be needing a new battery for your laptop, especially if the laptop seemed to require more frequent charging.

Look for guidance on your manufacturer's web site about care and charging of your laptop's battery.

I had a GPU issue so i searched in google to find a solution and i found a solution it was needs to open the laptop , the motherboard the GPU problem solved now but there's a new problem that i didn't have...

I would check to make sure the AC adaptor connection on the motherboard was not damaged when you opened the pc. ( I have done that a few times.) I'm uncertain of what you have done to solve the problem. Since you have the new battery, again try to charge the battery. when it show the charge is complete, let the pc run until it goes off, when it does, keep powering your pc on until it will no longer power on. (You want to make sure the battery is completely drainned.) Once complete, try plugging the AC to your pc and monitor the charge. You may need to let the pc charge for at least 2 hours before powering the pc on.

Good Luck

Qrc430 motherboard problem?

Dear User, There is possibility that the battery of your laptop is fully discharged. in this case if you are sure that the charger is fully functional then you have to powerup the charger and plugin to your laptop and not to power on your laptop upto 20 minutes. and after 20minutes start your laptop hopefully it will work. if problem still persist then pull out the battery and power on your laptop only on the power supply it must have to work. and after that if it dos'nt work then it is sure that there is problem in laptop,s motherboard charging circuit and consult with hardware repairing center

Problem with charging my battery on my Toshiba Satellite

Your Power jack has either cracked the motherboard or the solder connection. This is what you are looking to replace....

b2711c3.gif And it located like this on the motherboard....
If you are good at soldering and de-soldering.... a repair can be made in-house.
The actual jack is about $15USD.
To have it repaired by a technician is approximately $150USD. Most of the $$ is for labor in disassembling the entire laptop to get at it.
Motherboards do not interchange, unless they are of the same model#.
Hope this helps.

PS - I have personally used the LAPTOP GUY for this exact repair because I didnt want the bother of taking the entire thing apart, and have extra pieces at the end. They charge an upfront diagnostic fee and that is taken off the repair - if you have them do it. Free postage in a box they supply too!
