Question about Logitech 350 (980374-0914) Headset

Left headphone does not work properly

My left headphone rarely works, the only time it might work is if the headset is tilted in a certain position, usually if i just tilt my head to the left the headphone will work to a certain extent.  I do not know why this started happening. I took good care of the headphones, but one day this problem seemed to just randomly start.

Thank you very much for the the reply.
I have not tried your suggestion yet, could you please give more information.
The cable that goes directly into this headset is very thin(and becomes gnarled easily), but further down the cable there is a volume and mute controller that has a much thicker cable going into it.  I have no experience with this so please be descriptive.
    Thanks again.

I have the same problem but instead of the left one my right speaker on these headphones do not work. Tilting head about 45 degrees will make it work again.

The left stereo doesnt work.. I think it has something to do with the wires inside of the right headphone piece.. There is another post that tells you how to take it apart. Im currently trying to fix it now.

Hi,

Based on your post/description, it would seem that the cable of your head phone developed an open circuit somewhere. I would assume it is pretty near the headset itself. On most occasion, it is at the very entry point where the cable goes into the headset.

Normal repair would involve opening the side casing where the cable enters the headset, cutting the cable about 3 inches from entry point, strip exposing the three or 4 wires and reconnecting inside the stripped ends. Effectively what you have done is trim the cable a bit shorter eliminating hopefully the intermittent section.

Hope this be of help/idea, Post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good l;uck and kind regards.

The left headphone on my Plantronics Gamecom Pro 1 headset seems to not be working. Occassionally upon plugging it back in (it is USB), both headphones will work, but then the left one seems to cut out...

Most headphones are sealed by clips located underneath the foam (on the ear things). Stick a paperclip or xacto knife into the hole to unlatch the clips and then pry it outward. However, check the cable for any obvious breaks before disassembling your headphones.

The sound comes and goes from right part of headset

The left/right problem could be a bad connection on the red/white XBOX cables. Check to see that they're plugged in properly and not loose. You can also try plugging an MP3 player into the red/white jacks to see if the problem is with the headset or the XBOX. If it works ok with your MP3 player, then the headset is working fine.

You can get a new headset controller cable on our web site. Click on Replacement Parts in the left menu for the headset model you own (X1, X3, or X4).

My microphone will not work, and my computer won't recognize!

Common problem with this headset.

In short, the wiring for the mic in the left earpiece is quite shoddy, and over time will be worn away by changing the mic position or come loose with minimal effort.

Have had a over a dozen of these fail in our internet cafe due to this issue after a couple of months use.

How to take apart

I figured out how to remove the headphone clip without causing cosmetic damage to the headphone casing. Unfortunately for me, this was after I had scratched up the casing already. Anyway, to avoid the cosmetic damage, use some kind of plastic tool, like a plastic spoon. After pulling off the headphone cushion, you will see the aforementioned 4 slots. Carefully slip the handle end of the spoon underneath one of the slots(not through them), and apply gentle pressure toward the center of the speaker. Do this for each of the 4 slots, and the tabs should easily come loose. Hope that helps. As for figuring out how to get the headphone to work, I'm waiting for that solution myself. The right headphone is out, but the left one works, none of the wires are loose, so the damage must be from my nephew being careless with the headset cable, and probably tugging on it once too often. Don't let your 15 year olds use your headsets, if they tend to be clumsy :)
