Question about Sony Handycam DCR-TRV250E Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Camcorder not working

Have borrowed a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV250E from my brother and when I put a tape in the tape holder it no longer automatically opens.  The Display has a flashing yellow upward arrow and C:32:20 displayed on the top right corner and it does not respond when pressing the record button.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

Can I use Hi8/Digital8 NTSC tapes in my DCR_TRV250E?If so would I be able to playback recorded tapes on the UK televisions?.

DCR-TRV250E is a PAL version camera of the Digital8 format.
Yes you can use Hi8/Digital8 NTSC tapes. The camera will record a PAL digital picture on the tapes which means that you can play back the tapes in PAL and therefore you will be able to playback recorded tapes on UK televisions because they are also of the PAL format.
