Question about Mitsubishi WD-52725 52". Rear Projection HDTV

Same old problem Plus more

Still having same issues. Mits tech support has call the service tech and they can't find a  problem accept lamp is out for the fourth time 4000 hrs in 100 days.
Four weeks later they credited for a lamp and 75.00 for labor.

Service people still charged me 135.00 for pick up and delvery. They bring the unit in and ask for their payment. I stated lets see the unit work. They can't get a picture. Back into the truck it goes.

Call Mits 800 number wait for 20 mintue and the person can't help me so new adventure for Monday.

Any help I get from this site the techs just look at me and say no.

Any New Advice????

    Tech called 10-29-07 and stated fan is out that cools the ballast.

    Fan not in stock have order the fan out of Japan.

    Recieved my unit today 11-09-07 over a month in the shop and everything is working. With the new fan installed to cool the ballast will that help the life of the lamp?

    There was a lot of heat coming from the back of the unit where I think the fan is which makes sense but is there a way of knowing if that or any other fan goes out?

Can't reset lamp timer after lamp replacement on Panasonic PT-AE40000

I have a Panasonic PT-AE4000U and could not reset the timer after replacing the bulb with a, non-Panasonic branded bulb. Calls to tech support were not very helpful. It was another bad customer service experience. Through troubleshooting it myself, I discovered the solution was simply to unplug EVERYTHING (serial cable, hdmi cables, etc.) from the device, power it off and back on. Follow the procedure in the manual, the timer immediately reset!!

Lamp life

This lamp life is about right if the TV is getting constant use. Please check that the cooling fan is running at the correct speed and the vents are unobstructed.

I have a Mitsubishi 62" DLP and all it does is blink fast green from the timer for 1 minute. I checked the lamp and ballast board and both are good.

Power supply board Look for vented or puffed up on top capacitors 1000uf16v.330uf 10v, 470uf 16v.

Also what is the model number printed on back of TV?

When i turn on my 64inch mitsubishi wd 65733 tv it stays on for about a min (WITH PICTURE AND SOUND)then it just shuts off with the (orange) status light steady and the (green)lamp light blinking. I cant...

My concern is that the new lamp may be having an issue and not able to hold the high voltage.
If the old lamp was working, I would try this old lamp again.
If this issue was with the old lamp also. Then there is something else wrong either in the power supply or the lamp ballast where it isn't able to continue to put out the high voltage.

More than likely a lamp issue!

IF the lamp has already been tried here with a known good one....then...

Most like the "DM module" needs to be replaced. This is NOT a cheap repair and Mits KNOWS these sets are a problem. There is SOME possibility that the DM module, and possibly the formatter module too--could be repaired, about a 60% chance or so, by a decent tech...IF there is one in your area that will work on these sets. If you can get someone to check it out. ....have them chack for "bad capacitors" on ALL THREE of these modules::

The DM module.
The "formatter" module
The power supply.

Often--about 10 new caps on these three modules WILL fix the set. But it is a VERY time-consuming affair, as the modules are in a BUNCH of shields and such, so...figure on 3 hours of work, perhaps the tech removing the modules--or TV--from your house, and repairing the modules, and returning. A fair price to do this.... (if you don't have a service plan...if you do...someone SHOULD be willing to come out from warranty service and do this...) IF the modules can be re-capped--would be about 450-500, depending on the trip distance and such.

if the modules cannot be repaired /about 1in 3 times...and you have a warranty..and mits cannot supply new might just get a new set. This happened a NUMBER Of times last year, where I was at.

Whou ever !!!

that chassis has bad capacitors. two 1000uf capacitors on the PWB can cause the problem your describing but I wouldnt attempt the repair without the manual as the chassis is hard to remove, the manual makes it easier. you can get the manual at this link and they will give you free tech support as well.
