New folder opened automatically - I annot delete those folders...alls songs are gone

...while I was putting new songs on my MP3 Player, then I recognized that under "music" there were automatically opened new folder named "a" "i" and "e" - I tried everything, but I cannot delete them. All songs are "gone" when I turn my MP3 Player on...but on the computer they are still there, but they don't show not under "Songlist" or "To-Go-List":
What can I do ? Please help. I only have the MP3 Player one month and it is already not working correctly. Thanks in Advance.

Re: New folder opened automatically - I annot delete...

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

I want to delete old songs to put on new songs?

You should have gotten some form of a USB cable or way to connect the MP3. When you connect it, instead of opening the media player, open up your computer options("my computer") and open folder to view files. Then it should give you an option to delete files. (If you want to delete all of your previous media press Ctrl a to select all of your media and then press Delete)

Sansa e260 has no space left to write the database info. Vista and also Windows Media Player don't ''see'' any files. I can listen to all the music on the MP3 but I want to delete some and add others.

Same problem delete a couple of songs up to 6 mg or 10 whatever then allow to refresh then download your songs back in the music file. the sansa needs some memory to know it has the sdcard in it...

Go to my computer scroll to sansa and open the media folder and open each sub folder and delete manually then delete the folders themselfs then format a couple of times hope this works
Start over put new songs on it

Cant transfer limewire music from my computer to my mp3

Once you insert the mp3 player, the computer automatically detect the device, were you can see the folder inside of your mp3, create a folder from file, new, folder.

Now open the folder where the music was downloaded usually you can see that file at my document, save/complited folder, select all the file, copy

Open the new folder (which you created) in the mp3 then paste the songs that was downloaded.

To play the music in the mp3 player, just find the folder you created.

Sandisk Sansa MP3 Player

If you are not able to thru Windows Media Player, you can open the device thru My Computer>Device Name (e250)>MUSIC FOLDER.

You should see the music arranged in folders by album information.Just open the folder and right click and select delete on the tracks you no longer want.

Disconnect the device and it will restart.

Best of Luck.

Deleting songs

Chances are that you are using windows xp. open up your sansa folder to where it says pictuer, movies, ect. look at the picture to see what to do. In your player folder click tools --> folder options --> View. Under hidden files and folders click 'show hidden files and folders, click ok. The music folder would now show up where the videos and pictures are. Simply open the music folder and delete the ones you do not want. By default the songs are sorted by artist --> album --> song.
