Question about Siemens Efficient Networks SpeedStream 2623 (SS2623) Wireless Router

1 Answer

Speedstreem ss2623 I am trying to connect to the internet from my laptop. The laptop can find the wireless signal and indicates that I have an excellent connection. I can access the internet wirelessly for about 5 or 10 minutes, but then I am disconnected and cannot access again. Yet, it still indicates that I have an excellent connection. The only way to connect again is to unplug the router for a few minutes and then plug it in again. It then allows me to connect again, but the same problem persists. 5 to 10 minutes of access before disconnecting.

Hi, good afternoon! i am facing problem with my wireless connection. how can i connect on it? can you assist me?

Hi,
Are you getting an error when you try to connect?
If you were able to connect w/ the same device before, unplug any other device that uses radio signal such as cordless phones.
Unplug your wireless router for 1 minute and plug it back in. Wait for another 2 minutes and connect again.

How to i connect to wifi

If your trying to get on the internet with a wireless connection.and running WINDOWS, .and I am assuming you DO have a wireless router all set up and configured to broadcast the signal (not hidden) ....try resetting the router (disconnect the power to it for a few minutes) next --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---CHECK FOR SIGNAL NOW----Does the laptop "SEE" the router? choose View available networks and choose the one you want
You will need your SSID to logon to the router(internet)

If your trying to get on the internet with a wireless connection.and running WINDOWS, .and I am assuming you DO have a wireless router all set up and configured to broadcast the signal (not hidden) ....first we have to determine if the problem is at the router or at the laptop AND at what point its getting stuck ... so first try this

try resetting the router (unplug for a few minutes) try --be sure the wifi switch is enabled on the netbook---try---go to CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS--right click oin your wifi card and choose properties--highlight INTERNET PROTOCOL and choose properties and be sure "OPTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" is checked--Does the laptop "SEE" the router?

The little icon on the task bar is not always an accurate and reliable indicator of the status of your connection. If you are having occasional dropouts of signal, try repositioning your laptop either closer to the wireless transmitter or in a more direct, line-of-sight position. Sometimes it becomes necessary to install a wireless "extender" which boosts the signal to enable you to stay connected, especially if there are several other wireless networks within range of your machine.

Internet/network problems

Connecting the laptop to your network using a network cable, does this solve your Internet problems?
Does this works without the Internet connection dropping out?
If the wireless connection has a low signal, try positioning the wireless router or the laptop to get a better signal strength.
Also try reinstalling your wireless driver.

Able to connect on wireless but cannot ping router

from the comments and posts listed, it does sound like a problem with the wireless on the router. I second Ersatyle's recommendation to reset the router and reconfigure it from scratch, making sure the internet works fine via cable before trying wirelessly, as this will help to eliminate any issues connecting to the internet itself as opposed to the wireless.
