How do I remove "write protection" from Word files

  1. Open Word, and open the protected document. Click on the "Developer" tab.
  2. Click on "Protect Document" tab, and then click on "Restrict Formatting and Editing."
  3. Click on "Stop Protection."
  4. Type the password into the password box.

If you have forgotten the password, copy and paste the information from the write-protected Word document into a new Word document, and then save it under a different name.

I do this for fun & 4 thumb feed back, not $$$$

Put them into "my sounds" folder or into a music folder and use them from there. The ring tones are wright-protected.

Remove Write Protection

Try this,
1.
Check out if the USB drive has a small swich for write protection. If its there try toggling the switch.

2.
Windows can all write protect flash drives. Check out this registry path,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies.

You may find a key here on the right side by the name 'WriteProtect'. If it's not there this would not be the cause of problem. If it's there, make sure that the value is 0.

Please let me know if this does'nt work.

Remove Write Protection

Remove Jet Flash Write Protection Insert the mini CD that came with the USB Flash disk. Start JF Utility.exe in the JF Utility directory. If it complains that the disk is write protected, choose "Continue" Choose "Partition" Answer "Yes" to losing all your data (Since this becomes a problem usually after formating the disk in WinXP or Win9x, you will most probably not have any data on there in any case) Choose "Public Area Only (Single Partition)", Then "OK", Then "OK" again. Unplug the device, reinsert device, and voila!- no more dark secret areas or write protection on your disk!

My usb flash drive is write protected how can i remove it

USB flash drives are made of a small amount of flash ram and usualy the size of a persons thumb.

the software that resides on them determins if the "disk volume" is write protected.

if a software program other than the native software that came with the drive has write protected "files" that exist on the drive you will need to find out the name of said program and follow the proceedures for changing the write protection of those files.
