Question about PC Desktops

Sharp XE-A102 Cash Register

For some reason the  register will continue to record amounts typed in when the total button is pressed.
For example; type in the price of a pint of lager @ £2.40 and sub-total it, and press total. The register will enter the amount again and again for several times.

You have to get them from a Sharp dealer. Cash register keys can't be cut.

I have a sharp xe-a102. our receptionist was inputting as transaction as normal and pressed 2 for department key and an amount and since then the unit is unresponsive. when you power off and on it...

Powering off and on will not work as the machine has a memory to stop loss of transactions. If you have the key in REG mode, and press SUBTOTAL (ST), see if you get an amount on the display. If so, type that amount (e.g if you see 3.80, type 380) and press CASH (TL). If you don't see an amount then you are not in a sale and you may have started in another mode. Let me know if you still have trouble. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Sharp XE-102 Cash Register seems to be dead. It won't do anything. What should I try first?

Try removing the batteries, then turn key to REG mode. Turn power off at wall for 30 mins, then on again, then put batteries in. If still dead, then main board failure is the most common reason. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
