SOURCE: Samsung 40" LCD Built in

Samsung sold thousands of big screens with a power capacitor issue--they have issued extensions of warranties on many models covering free in-home repairs by licensed regional technicians (sometimes not where you bought the TV). I know this one--at first, the TV would just behave this way maybe twice, then stay on...later, as the problem advanced, three, four, then five, and on, until finally it would keep cycling off and on until it completely stopped working. When my girlfriends' 46" LCD Samsung finally quit, we called Best Buy, who told us to call Samsung, who then did send a technician from about 60 miles away--he had the little capacitor replaced, and the TV working, within minutes. I asked him how they could afford to do this, and he informed me that he makes runs of these jobs, scheduling perhaps a dozen in one day. So, it's chronic, yes, and they're aware of it, and fixing it--hopefully still for free! So, I'd call my dealer, see if you have to call Samsung, then if you do, then call 'em--they should still be sending out the cavalry for this issue--they caused it by using cheap, poor-quality capacitors (the replacements are 'new and improved', and we've never had an issue since).

I have a Samsung Plasma TV Model PN43D490A1D, I had sound but no picture, have replaced some parts but now I have nothing but a flashing red light and a clicking relay.

There are so many different error kinds of flashing red light on different brands and models of plasma, Lcd and CRT TVs. The errors are depends on color and how many times are the LED flashed. Try to count how times the red flashed on and check it through internet what error you had on your tv. Maybe entering the service menu in your unit solve the problem.

if you can do soldering work, replace two 1000uF10v bulging capacitor with 1000uF 16v or 25v in powersupply board. you will save $200.
