SOURCE: pilot won't stay lit

Your unit has a "vent safety limit switch" which is a high temperature limit. It gets hot enough to trip over time because you do not have proper venting. It is a safety switch and SHOULD NOT be disabled - instead find and fix the venting problem(chimney bad?)!

SOURCE: my empire heater wont turn off and just keeps

Sounds like the thermostat for the blower motor (not the gas thermostat) has shorted. Remove front cover on stove. Follow the wires from the blower motor back to the blower thermostat. Replace with new one. Blower model # DRB-1.

SOURCE: PILOT FOR EMPIRE WALL HEATER WONT STAY LIT. I HAVE

are you sure the problem is with the thermocouple? is the pilot sharp and blue? it is unconnon for the magnet in a gas valve to go bad but it does happen. place the thermocouple in the valve and with it in front of you heat it with a match or lighter for 30 sec. now try and light the pilot quickly. if it lights the the problem would be the pilot, if not then the valve. is this a milivolt system or hydrolic t stat.

SOURCE: need a gas valve for

Being an ECS dealer, I'm not aware of a recall. The following link will give you a list of master parts dealers that you should use, if your heater is no longer under warranty. Select the one closest to where you live. http://www.empirecomfort.com/EMPIRECOMFORT/pdf2010/forms/Master-Parts-Distributors.pdf

If your heater is still under warranty and you still have your Proof of Purchase. Order the part through your local Empire Dealer.

Hope this helps you get the gas control valve you need.

Empire wall furnace pushing down the pilot button trying to light the pilot found too much gas flowing

Is the button on the gas valve or a red button in the line to the pilot assembly? If its in the line, there is a regulator upstream of the button. If the gas is coming from the gas valve, there is a small screw covered hole in line with the pilot line in the gas valve. If neither of these apply, you may need to replace the orifice in the pilot assembly. Let me know how it goes.

Poilt is very week and will not open gas valve

The reason the control valve is opening slowly is the the Thermopile needs to be replaced. The Thermopile generates millivolts of electricity from the heat of the pilot flame, which then opens the gas valve when heat is called for. Also, check the pilot flame to make sure it's engulfing the thermopile. If it's not the pilot needs to be cleaned.

The Empire Comfort Systems, Thermopile part number is 672063

I have a Empire DV210 wall mount vented furnace. The pilot light is very hard to start and has a very small flame not touching the thermopile. The flame is blue but very small. I can not get the primary...

Hi,
The pilot ofifice probably has a bit of dirt in it...to get it out you will need to take the pilot apart and clean it out...this can be fairly difficult on those heaters and getting it back together can be a pain...pay attention as you take it apart...blow our the tip with canned air like you would use to clean your keyboard...
Then reassemble...
Sometimes the "hood" or the cover over the flame will bend up over time and you will also have to bend it down a bit to get the pilot flame onto the thermocouple...make sure the thermocouple is also pushed all the way up in the holder...

Pilot won't light.

If you try but the pilot won't stay lit, you probably have a bad thermocouple. It is a small probe located in the pilot that has either two wires wrapped in a metal jacket going to the gas valve or one copper tube also going to the gas valve. To get to it, you will have to open up the burner chamber and drop it out. Take the thermocouple to a good hardware store or fireplace shop for a new one.

The thermocoupler is no good. It's that bulb sitting in the pilot flame. when it goes out it shuts everything doen in the main valve. It has to be kept hot by the pilot, that's how it know whether or not it is safe to open the main .

PILOT LIGHTING BUT CANNOT TURN ON WITOUT IT GOING OUT

change the gas valve, if the thermocoupling works and the piliot stays lit then it has to be the gas valve check to make sure the screen is clear also,, you said it's propane, check to make sure it is all the way turned on, and has the right pressure it might have a bad regulator on it, but will let other things in the house run good luck

Pilot light wont stay lit

You need to replace the pilot safety switch which is usually a Thermocouple. It is connected by a thin tube from the gas valve to a bulb near the pilot burner. It should be available at Home Depot or online.

Pilot on burners won't light

Pilot won't light - natural gas or propane. check for a spider web in the burner tube. check no dust in burner tube. check surface igniter is lit. if pilot lights check flame detector - may be a millivolt generator - it is a small capillary with a copper tip in flame path. no fire will keep the pilot valve closed. replace the generator.
