Close ink cover

From Brother website/help

Click the Add Port... button.
Select the Standard TCP/IP Port option and click
New Port. The
Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP
Printer Wizard appears.
Click Next.
In the Printer Name or IP address area enter the node name
of the
Brother device as it is printed on the network configuration page.
An
example node name could be: "BRN_34FDAA".
As you enter the node name, the Port Name box will be
automatically updated.
Click the Next button.
Click the Finish button.
Click the Close button on the original Printer Ports
screen.
Click the Close button to return to the original properties
screen.
Click the Apply button and then the OK
button.
Now try to print a test page.
This worked great for me!

You must go through the safe mode and uninstall your graphics driver and install another one, may be you will find more compatible driver with your graphics card and your windows copy on gateway website.

Gateway 450ROG screen went dark

Try using a can of compressed air and blowing out all the nooks and cranies. I did this and it worked for mine. Haven't had a problem since doing this. Let me know if you need more help.

The screen on my Gateway monitor suddenly went light blue. Has anyone else had this problem or know the solution to get it back to white?

Does the screen remain the same color when you turn it off and back on, unplug it and back in, or disconnect it from the pc and reconnect it?

I'm betting that you need a new "Inverter" board, especially if it's a Gateway 450ROG.
There is an inverter that Gateway used in several models that has a known defect.
Inverters are relatively inexpensive ,and easy to replace. You could ven do it yourself if you have a little skill at disassembly / re-assembly. Tell me the model number of your laptop and I can help you more

USB Ports

one way would be to download and install latest device drivers from the net. it should help.. if you are using win XP, there is likely a BIOS or Windows configuration problem. On some computers there is a configuration option in the BIOS that asks whether an IRQ should be assigned to USB. Although the option's actual wording varies among BIOS manufacturers, you must enable this option by setting it to either On or Yes (depending on your BIOS manufacturer and BIOS version). Otherwise no USB devices will work on XP. A problem with Windows XP’s USB Controller configuration can also prevent any USB devices from working. To determine whether the USB controllers are working properly, open Device Manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers node. Beneath this node, you should see a USB Universal Host Controller and a USB Root Hub. Depending on your PC, there will either be a USB Universal Host Controller and a USB Root Hub listed for each of your computer’s USB ports or a USB Universal Host Controller and USB Root Hub for multiple ports
