Question about Computers & Internet
Cpu screen flashes off, then on, w/mssge display driver recovered, or cpu crashes & must be restared, is this fixable with a download or replacing the graphics card?? HP desktop, approx. 3-4 yrs old
I had same problem 1 month ago in the end realised that CPU is ded.
had to change from 2 duo e8500 to 1.8Ghz core :(

if this is a built sustem out of the box with old monitor try another monitor oddly enough some arent compatible, you can check by looking at the prong patern.

As per discription provided by you, Suspect the physical RAM is having problem. Check and insert the RAM properly may solve your problem.

If the motherboard has integrated video, it can be disabled and another addin video card can be installed into an available pci-e, agp, or pci slot if your computer has one. This is not something you can do with a laptop, only a desktop computer. For example, when i put a video card in one of my extra slots it automatically disables the integrated video.
If your video card is ALREADY in one of the ADD_IN slots, it can be removed and replaced.
