Question about Janome Memory Craft 9000 Computerized Sewing Machine
How to replace the motherboard for janome 9000
Not a job for a backyard mechanic. Ypu'll only make it worse. And besides, the labor is a fairly small part of the cost of this repair, mostly parts...

This can be ordered from a Janome dealer only and he will have to order it from The Janome Company. They are not cheap so get the price first. It will be better if you can get him to install it for $70-80 dollars more because there may be some adjustments which need to be made when he finishes. It should also be cleaned and lubricated. That being said, I have a few questions for you.
When you plug the machine in and turn it on, does it light up at all? If the answer is no, then you need to check the lead cord.If the lead cord is okay,Then you need to check the fuse wich is located in a black box inside the bottom of the machine. Be sure you diagram the way the wires are before you disconnect them. Disassemble the black box and you will find 2 fuses in it. Usually only one is bad and it will be a 3.0 slow burn fuse. You will probably not find this at Radio Shack but you can find a 3.15 slow burn which works very well.. Be sure to reassemble everything the way it came apart. While you have the bottom of the machine off, blow it out wih air and lubricate every part that moves and rubs with a good quality sewing machine oil (not 3 in 1)
