Any CD recorder should be operational without a remote BUT there may be some menu items that might not be accessible. It strikes me as a poor design when you are required to use a remote to operate a device for basic functions.
Hi marniquematt You can do this only with CD RW discs , not with CD R discs . Under Windows XP , load a CD RW in the drive , right-click on the icon in " my computer " and select the desired operation . You can also use specific softwares for these operations , like Nero , CD Creator ... and many others . Best regards , fanaudi
According to your problem description,it seems that you formatted your computer hard disk by connecting it to another PC.If it is yes. Your Hard Disk completely formatted along with your windows drive i.e C drive. So you have to reinstall operating system by using recovery or restore plus CD supplied along with your PC.Restore plus cd means a CD which is having operating system files, and needed when operating system fails to boot.If you purchased Genuine operating system along with your PC,you should have recovery or operating system CD. if you are not having recovery CD,you can use windows XP CD for fresh installatin of your operating system
I think it helps.

You need an Operating System disk, like XP or Vista. Do you have one? If so, put it in the CD drive and reboot the computer. If it doesn't boot to the CD, you will need to go into your BIOS setup and configure it to boot to the CD ROM drive first. Press F10 to save and exit, then the Operating System should launch from the CD and install on the new hard drive.
If Your Travelmate comes with Preloaded operating system. You must have operating system Cd. If it is not u r not having operating system CD. may u r trying using driver and documentation cd.It is not a bootable operating CD.
2.if u r using right cd then go to bios setting select option cd as first bootable device.
Just bought 2001 peugeot 406.The radio worked perfect but CD player not reading disk or operating. That was until I realised that the CD for driving safety will not allow you to put CD into it while driving or engine running.Switched off engine then switched it to 1st batt light position & CD worked perfectly. But when I then switched key off & then started it was back to not operating.I then realised that the CD player for safety will not operate when engine is running unless you let the CD start operating first pre engine fire then wait a little more time before starting .Now it should work properly though it will not allow even the passenger to change a disk while being driven. On disk change you have to go through the same start proceedure.Hope this will get your CD working.Sherlock ??
A bootable cd has the bootstrapping process that starts operating systems when the user turns on a computer system. A boot sequence is the set of operations the computer performs when it is switched on that loads an operating system.
A bootable cd will reload the settings you have at the time it's made so that you can fix an operating system that has been messed up.
