Spay a can of freeze on the vertical ic while it happens if not that ic try others.

i found this on a different page
his set could have a few probems. One common problem on alot of mitsubishi big screens is the surface mount capacitors on the doubler module go bad, but usaully the set stays on but does not have any sound or picture. It is most likely a problem in the vertical. If there is no vertical sweep seen by a certain protection circuit, it will shut down the set to protect the picture tubes from having a line burned into them from just a single intensely bright line being displayed. I have had many a mitsubishi have pico fuses open randomly in the 26 volt line for the vertical and when replaced the set operated normaly. I also had bad solder connection on the vertical output I.C's causing them to short out and open the same pico fuse. There could be oher factors but those are 2 of the most common ones I see. Without actaully looking at the set thats the best I can do. I would say its well worth getting fixed..

Aside from the customer controls you might be able to turn the screen controls up a bit to get more brightness, they are on a black block inside the set.

I have a mitsubishi vs-60111 and the color is a greenish, grayish color i checked the bulbs and they are working the red is bright the greenseems to be good and the blue is bright ?

color problems are the hardest to diagnose, especially if one cant see the picture, but depending on how many hours the TV has bin in opp oration, the first suspicion is the red CRT, the proportions of red green and blue are critical, and the red is the most demanding therefore the read is the most intense color and will be the first to fade, you cannot depend on just viewing the CRT to diagnose this problem, they go dim over time, if you can try to turn up the brightness of the red CRT, some older models may still have a manual control , if not there will be adjustments that can be made via soft-where setup, let me know how you fair with that, do not look directly into the CRT,,,,very bright and not good for the eyes, also there may be upwards of 30 to 40 thousand volts at the CRT anode lead, be very careful

Not enough info, but I'll take a stab. What you are describing is known in our trade as a thermal, since it is related to the warm-up of your unit.

If your set is a triple gun CRT unit, the convergence ICs have probably come unsoldered and are making intermittent connections in there depending on the heat of warm-up. Those ICs generate a tremendous amount of heat and in CRT tech it is not unusual for their legs to come unsoldered, after years of expansion and contraction of the solder joints themselves.

Getting them resoldered again before the ICs go bad will get you out of the woods and back on track with completely reliable performance from then on, but until that happens you must not allow your set to stay running for any length of time in its bad condition. Doing so will croak your ICs and you will have to take the further step of getting them replaced and having your convergence retightened and possibly your geometry redone as well.

Rolling screen

Ahh the old rolling picture problem. If this set has a Picture in picture feature, your problem is on the PIP module itself. There is a kit of surface mounted capacitors that need to be replaced If you have some soldering skills you should be able to do this your self, but if you do not, I advise you to get someomne who does as most of these PIP modules are not available any longer. The kit can be purchased from Good Luck

Turn on and off

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Replace the sweep/ power supply module Good luck
