Yes sure you can. But I need to remind you that after you repair your device, all of the files may be lost 'cause repair it just like formatting it.
Moreover, when you get your repaired device, you'd better not put any new data like photos, songs, etc. into it. Once you do this, the data overwritten will be caused and you will lose the chance to get the files back.
Actually such repairing, formatting or deleting will not really may your files lose forever. It just frees up the space of the so called deleted files so that the space can be used by the new files.
