Question about General Electric GTDP490EDWS GE 7.0 Cu. Ft. DuraDrum Electric Dryer with HE Sensor Dry
It is taking several cycles to dry even when 1/2 loads are put in the drum. The vent is cleared with every load and the connection tube is clear. The back of the dryer is heating, but the clothes are still damp. The dryer is 1 1/2 years old and we have been having issues off and on for a year. The dryer vent tubing flows through the roof of the house, so we aren't sure how to check that vent.
You may have a clogged air vent, check that the air vent hose is not smashed, if it is not smashed, have your dryer vent cleaned professionally, all the way from where the dryer connects to the wall to where the vent leaves the home,
Recheck the dryer operation, dryer vents should be cleaned every other year for optimum performance

There is a lint trap at the rear od the dryer and one on the roof or side where ever the dryer vents out. Make sure all those are clean

The most common problem is your exhaust line is blocked. Turn on the dryer and go outside to feel how much air is coming out the vent. Most likely it is blocked. If so you'll need to disconnect the exhaust duct and vacuum it out.
