Open the microwave. If there is a removable panel on the top, remove it and replace the lightbulb.

SOURCE: how to replace lightbulb inside microwave

Unplug the microwave from its electrical outlet. Never service an electrical appliance while it's plugged in.

  • 2 Remove the screws that hold the outer shell onto the microwave chassis. Often the screws are on the bottom or back of the microwave. Use a Phillips screwdriver or Torx driver to remove the screws.
  • 3 Lift the outer shell off the microwave chassis and locate the box that houses the halogen lightbulb. In most cases, the box is metal. It may or may not have a lid on it. If it has a lid, loosen the tabs and pull off the lid.
  • 4 Unscrew the halogen bulb and replace it with a bulb rated at the exact same wattage.
  • 5 Place the cover back onto the box if necessary and place the shell over the microwave chassis.
  • 6 Secure the shell to the chassis with the original screws and the screwdriver or torx driver.

How do i change the lightbulb

Sometimes you change them from the inside, but more often, there is a small door on the outside which is fixed by a single screw. It is on the outside of the case which corresponds to the place inside where the light is at the back or on the side.

Good Evening Gary, thank you for your post!
From the information you have provided you need to replace the lightbulb inside of your Frigidaire microwave. Replace a lightbulb

The lamp is housed inside the outside enclosure which has to be removed to gain access for replacement. You should be aware that removal of the enclosure may expose you to hazardous voltages inside.

Lightbulb on ceiling of oven went out. How do I

    Hello :

1:Unplug the microwave oven from the outlet. Wait 20 minutes for the capacitor that is inside the microwave to discharge.

2:Unscrew all the screws around the casing by turning them counterclockwise.

3:Remove the cover by lifting off.

4:Locate the light bulb in the microwave. This will be located on either the right or left side.

5:Unscrew the light bulb by unscrewing counterclockwise. Some light bulbs are held into the socket by two notches; for these you will need to gently push on the bulb and turn counterclockwise to unsecure the bulb, then pull out of the socket.

6: Place your new bulb in the empty socket and secure by turning clockwise until tight, or if the bulb is one with notches on both sides, then guide the notches into the slot on the socket, push gently and turn clockwise until clicked into position.

7: Replace the cover and screw back on. You are now done and may plug back in the microwave.

Warning : Unplug the microwave before starting and wait 20 minutes for any residual electricity to be bled off from the capacitor.

Things you will need : Phillips screwdriver

    good luck .

    please rate !

Lightbulb burned out for microwave model # KHMS 1850SSS-0 Kitchen Aid Where can I purchase a replacement? Thank you, Carrie

Most home improvement stores and even some Walmarts/Chain grocery stores/Ace Hardware carry replacements. You will need to remove the cover from the microwave oven on most models unless your bulb is inside a protective cover inside the actual oven. Take the bulb with you when you go to make certain of a proper match. Be certain to unplug the oven if you need to remove the cover in any case.
