Sounds like it's actually made for 22 shorts, only, and the long and long rifle are extending past the chamber and wedging in the slightly smaller bore beyond the chamber after firing. (the casing expands slightly...)

SOURCE: mosberg 12 ga pump. Once you load then shoot it drops shells.

Thewre is a U shaped silver piece that is supposed to lift the shell up to the chamber so it can be pushed in. Is it missing or damaged?

SOURCE: I need a price on

  • Remington 22 #BJ52 is a great riffle. 300 yard true shooting no problem. I would take no less than $250 for it and I would like to see $300use for one if I were selling it and it.
  • Remington 870 Model #318165x Is a nice 410 shotgun. It will effectively relocate the mid section of an intruder. A good pump action foul hunting shot gun as well. $800usd would be a top shelf price on this one.

Regards, Tony

I have a remington rifle, i think the serial number is 1001.its single shot, you have to pull hammer back and then another gatget back to load the shell. I cant tell even what caliber it is.

If the serial number is 1001, it may be the first off the production line, in which case valuable. Best bet would be to take some pictures to a gun shop.

Calibre should be stamped on the barrel.

You should normally load the cartridge before you pull the hammer back. However, it may be a type called a 'Rolling Block'. This them

I have a Remington rifle which is a 22 caliber octagon barrel rolling block type serial number J282433. Any info on this rifle would be appreciated.

Could use more info, such as markings on the barrel and or breach. The Remington rolling block type single shot goes back to the 1860'S. The first 22 calibers around 1888. The rolling block went through 8 changes. The different types or changes are where various pins and screws are located, size and shape of hammers and triggers. The New Model Number 4, made from 1890 - 1933 came standard in 22 cal. with a 22 1/2 inch Oct. barrel. It will have a small lever on the right side of the breach. Approx 50,000 of these where made between the years noted. You could very well have a model 1, 2 or a model 7, which will be rare if in very good shape as only 1000, No. 7's where made. Tracking the serial number will be hard unless you contact Remington.

It appears that the 22 shell has become lodged in the barrel.

I'm assuming you are using something like a powder actuated nailing gun. If so the tool should come apart for just this reason. Do not try to mechanically force the spent shell from the barrel. You can damage the inside of the barrel. If you have the manual or know the brand name and model number you should be able to find a manual online that will tell you how to dismantle the tool.
