Sleep button

use the buttons on the front ... press them all until your menu comes up on the screen.....also you could try finding the manual .... buy a universal remote ..... buy a timer for the plug ... turn off the tv . stop watching tv before bedtime .... ask some1 to pop in and check if you have fallen asleep with the tv on , mums are usually always willing to do this for you , but i'd advise caution if your watching adult rated comment they usually do not condone this content ...let us now which option you go for and how it works out for you ... good luck friend

LG TV Goes Into Hibernation (I Think)

This could be two things 1- a power saving mode in the TV... go into settings on the TV, look for either "power save settings" or "energy star settings" go in and turn that off. 2- it could be a screen saving mode because the TV has lost signal...some HDDVR receivers such as Direct TV DVR etc...have their own power saving mode, after a couple our of inactivity, they turn off, which kills the signal to the TV...so the TV shuts down because it has no signal coming to it.... if that is the case, you need to go into the settings on your cable/satellite settings and also look for a "power save mode" or "energy star saving", and turn that off.

I have an old Sony Trinitron that I bought in I believe 2003. Very reliable until a couple of days ago. Fell asleep watching, turned it off in the morning and now no picture. I hear it trying to turn

Unless you have some good electronics knowlegde, its time to can it. There is extreme high voltage to power tube sets. Plus the price of repair for a tv thats not worth much money nowdays.

I used to be a tv salesman.

My tv turns off after about 10 mins and sometimes a few hours for know reason

Ok not sure if this is your problem, BUT, I have done this before! If you hit the SLEEP button on your TV's Remote control you may be setting the SLEEP TIMER on your TV. It is made so you can watch a show and fall asleep on your couch and the TV will shut off after a specified time. On mine it is anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 HOURS! My remote says the word SLEEP over the timer button. not sure on yours
Hope that solves the problem, just hit the button until the word "OFF" shows on your screen.

My Toshiba television cut off by itself.

Will it turn back on? If so you have probably activate the sleep feature of the television. I had one like this and it had a 90 minute sleep feature that you could use to automatically turn off the TV when you fall asleep with it on.

Unfortunately RCA are a cheap and nasty budget end television. If it is out of warranty there is little you can do, apart from having it repaired or buying a new one.

The troubling fact is that it sounds like it may have been about to set on fire. This gives concern that it might be, or should be the subject of a manufacturer recall. So in your case, I would contact RCA once more and ask if your set is the subject of a recall? If they say no, say to them that you are going to contact the Recall Agency, because you think this set may have been about to burst into flames. See how fast they respond :>)

Check the link for agencies in your country.

No sound ,fell asleep control on floor

Try not to fall asleep on the remote again. LOL :}
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote control after trying all codes
listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for
your code.
NOTE: Before performing a code search for a DVD player or a VCR, turn on the device and
insert the required media.
For example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. On the remote control, press TV once.
2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice,
then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.The LED will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control at the TV and slowly alternate
between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off
(after pressing POWER). If the device does not have a Power
key, you can substitute another function, such as digits 0 ~ 9 ,
CH, or PLAY).
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from
its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code
first.
5. To lock in the code, press and release SET.The LED will
blink twice.
6. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps
1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for
the device you are searching for.
