Outlook 2007 will not upload large file atachements

PROBLEM: User was unable to send large file attachments (Over 1.6 GB) using Outlook 2007. Webmail will allow the file to be attached.
RESOLUTION: The default timeout value in Outlook 2007 is 60 seconds, too short for most ISP connection speeds to send large files. Resolution is changing the default timeout to 300 seconds using these steps. In Outlook, Click Tools, Accounts, Change, Advanced, Server Timeout, there change the timeout to 300 seconds save and exit.

When i load a disc, the unit says that there is no disc. Have tried many dvds.

This happened to me too. Try wiping the DVD clean. I did this and then it worked. "Auto F5 reload window" options Default timeout * Timeout for this page * Add random value to timeout between 0 and * Show and hide menu Ignore everything after these symbols in URL(separate with spaces) Include the separators in the URL saved Hide menu when clicking outside the menu Prolong timeout on mouseclicks or keyboard input Reload all pages with default timeout, which has no timeout set
*Format examples: hh:mm:ss, h:m:ss, m:sss, s etc. like 1:20:30 oder 500 oder 3:100

Can't turn off idle time out. and have to keep rebooding the router

Idle timeout is configured with the command

exec-timeout 0 0

The value is in minutes and seconds. If you put in a value of 0 1 then it will time out after 1 second of time. Idle time is configured separately for console and vty connections. One option is to connect via the console port and then change the idle timeout on the vty connections. If you have no access to the console port then you have to type fast or paste the proper commands in. You can type out the following commands into a text editor

config t
line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 5 0
end

You would want to copy them into your clipboad before logging into the router. Once you get logged in and into enable mode, you can paste the clipboard into the terminal (check your terminal instructions to find out how). This should set your idle timeout value to 5 minutes.

Windows XP Timeout

You can fix this by removing that software. But if you must keep it, you can change the timeout by doing the following:
  1. Login to Windows
  2. Start > right-click My Computer > Properties
  3. Advanced tab
  4. Under Startup and Recovery click Settings...
  5. You will find the timeout settings there
Best of luck. Please vote for this answer. Thank you.

Hp laserjet 1100 - won't print under Win'98SE i've got this printer and can't use it on a computer under win98SE. under XP works fine! all the ports seems to be bussy, and request to increes the timeout...

Try changing the LPT port mode in the BIOS- there should be like SPP, EPP, ECP. As I recall there are different drivers for USB and Parallel and I don't think Serial is supported. If you installed HP drivers, Uninstall and use the Windows drivers.

Problems with printer settings

Interesting. I tried printing a simple 3-page Excel spreadsheet sent my by a colleague to my 8500DN from Microsoft's Excel Viewer and got a timeout error formatted as follows:

ERROR: timeout
OFFENDING COMMAND: timeout

STACK:

42
-mark-
(84,160)

No idea what this means, but resetting the network parameters (even though I use USB connection) from the printer's front panel cleared the problem. The printer would print nothing else from any program until I performed this reset. Wonder if Excel futzes with settings and printing somehow?

Scanning drops in middle of scanning

Check to see if the computer has adequate RAM's installed to work with the scanner. Don't forget that in the background it is running scanner software, and the operating system at the very least.

It is also possible that there is a buffer over-run timeout error occurring with the USB port processing. There may be an IRQ address conflict. The over-run timeout error from the USB port may not be reported.

Try connecting a USB powered hub between the computer and the scanner. The powered hub will offer some isolation, and being a hub it has some internal memory with data repeating circuits. I have seen this approach fix a lot of problems with digital cameras and scanners.

If it still has the same fault with the hub, then try using the hub with the scanner on different USB ports. There may be an issue with IRQ's and addresses. Moving to a different port will sometimes allow for a different address for reading the scanner.

Past these options that I mentioned, the fault is very involved. If you do not have the in depth knowledge base about how to trouble-shoot this fault, you will have to get some assistance.

Duplicate/incorrect MAC addresses in the CAM table

This is from the Cajun P333R manual but it should be very similar if not identical.

Good Luck.

arp timeout Command
Use the arp timeout command to configure the amount of time that an entry
remains in the ARP cache. To restore the default value, 14400, use the no form of
this command.
The syntax for this command is: arp timeout <seconds>
The syntax for the no form of this command is: no arp timeout <seconds>
Examples:
To set the arp timeout to one hour:
Router(configure)# arp timeout 3600
To restore the default arp timeout:
Router(configure)# no arp timeout
ip-address IP address, in dotted decimal format, of the station
hardware-address 48-bit address of the local data link
seconds The amount of time, in seconds, that an entry
remains in the arp cache.
