SOURCE: need to replace chain on 450s mcculloch chain saw

You might want to purchase a combination set with a new bar and chain, if so, Oregon #108764 is the 16" length set.

If you only want either a chain or bar, then the following are the correct ones for your chainsaw:

Chain 16" @ 3/8" pitch = #91VX054G (low profile, semi-chisel)

Bar 16" = Oregon #160SDEA318 (w adjustable chain tensioner)
Bar 16" = Oregon #160SDET318 (no adjustable bar slot for use on chainsaw originally equipped with the Intenz bar only)

Hope you find this very helpful and best regards!

SOURCE: Require a manual for an ''efco'' chain sharpener.

There are no "efco" chain sharpeners at Northern Tool or at efcopower.com. There is a Chinese made grinder with the Northern Tool name on it. It is a lessor quality copy of an Oregon model 511A. It is such a good copy that parts and the manuals are interchangable. The 511A manual can be downloaded here: http://www.oregonchain.com/pdf/accessories/511AManual_3Lang.pdf

Victa 3012 TX not driving

What kind of saw is that? MMM did it work before? will the engine accelerate? it has a centrifugal clutch? wrong chain will strip the drive gear and also destroy the cutting chain. how bout, before you spend any more money on a grey market saw research some of the well known manufacturers same pricing, good luck.

Maintenance

in severe cuting duty clean the air filter every other time you refuel. at the end of every day inspect and clean the bar groove(sediment can fill these up causing oil to not reach the chain and tip) file burs off the bar( these can make the bar larger then the cut your chain makes therefore making it harder to pass through a log however be sure to not roll the edge with your file) and ensure your roller tip if equiped spins freely. next clean sawdust buildup from under the side cover and ensure the oiler journals are free of debris. remove your sprocket and chekk for wear, in most models you can flip the sprocket once one side starts becoming worn, next remove the clutch shoe (make sure chain brake is off) and clean buildup off inside be sure not to scratch to surface. finally remove the bearing and grease with white lithium bearing grease and re assemble the saw. in sever cutting conditions this should all be done daily. if your only cutting firewood a few days out of the year then once after each project should be enough. finally once a year you should inspect and replace if necesary you fuel and oil filters, if you have an adjustable oil system you can test your oiler by running the saw at max chain speed with the tip a few inches from a piece of wood if the chain slings a line of oil down then your oiling plenty. you can also pay attention to how much oil you saw goes through, it should need filled every time the gas does. if your chain is amking a whinning noise then either your not oiling enough or your chain is way to tight so pay attention to this as well

The chain keeps falling off my brand new Poulan sixteen inch blade chain saw

It is possible they gave you the wrong chain for the saw. I would take check the manufacture to see which chain you need then check the numbers on your chain. Other thing it could be is the washer on the clutch may be missing. Either way, it is a new saw, I would take it back.

An earley 1984 husky 34 delux chainsaw bar has 320855 plus the number 120 under it

The Husky 34 was a badge engineered machine, it was actually manufactured by Skil under licence, it ran a 3/8 low profile chain ( 91sg ) 050 gauge, sorry cant remember the drive link count, after market bars and chains are still available from Oregon ( Blount ) it has to said it was not the best hobby saw going.

I have a J3816 chain saw. I need a new chain. What do I look for? I understand it is a Homelite in JD clothing. loadmike@yahoo.com

I don't know what suppliers you have in your area but where I live tractor supply, orechlins, and true value all have good selections of chains and knowledgeable sales staff. Most have a selection booklet that lists proper chain selections fo bar length, manufactures, chain type [ low kickback, fast cut, etc.]
You will need model number, manufactures name, chain length, type of chain you want. I would use the low kickback chain in almost all types of wood. About the only type of wood that I would use a more aggressive chain on is soft high moisture content woods like cottonwood or certain elms and pines. I hope this helps you. Thanks

Doesthis thing need oil or some other liquid type

The bar and chain require bar oil (only) to be placed in the capped tank. The motor itself is air cooled, and should be blown out with compressed air often to remove the accumulated sawdust. Make sure the chain is tightened just enough to prevent the lower part of the chain from drooping from the bar and can be turned by hand. Make sure to keep the chain teeth sharp by properly filing for best cutting. Test the chain oil pump operation by running the saw with the chain tip near a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after a moment or two of running. Hope this helps!

There are often multiple carburetor manufacturer's used on the same model. They can easily help you determine what is on your saw.
