Kodak 650 slide projector that won't advance the slides with remote

Don, Does the projector still cycle from the side (on-board projector) buttons?? If it does, then you have a bad remote (parts are still available from: If it will not cycle from either the remote or the side buttons, then chances are that you have a broken solenoid link. If you are not familar with the projector & proper disassembly, I'd contact a dealer. Again, you can still get the necessary parts from micro-tools. Good Luck !!

Slides won't advance or reverse

The AF-2 is suffering from old age! The problem you are experiencing is "continuous cycle", and is caused by the cycle contact either being bent or worn to the point it can't stop the cycle camstack at the end of a slide change. If you are familiar with projector repair, I can give you specific instructions. Otherwise, I suggest you locate an authorized repair dealer. Even though the projector is old, all the necessary parts are available from:

Can i convert to a dvd i have a trv-35h elmo

You can very easily. You may use the S-VHS output on your Elmo ( a 4-pin DIN socket on the rear) going into the S-VHS input on your DVD player. You will need an S-VHS cord. Very cheap at Radio Shack or on Ebay. This gives the best quality. Our you can use the more familiar RCA composite video output (yellow socket) from the Elmo into the composite or auxiliary input on the DVD recorder.Be sure you have selected the proper input on your DVD recorder. Use a TV set as a monitor so you can see what you are recording. When I convert slides to DVD, I do a test run through the carousel to be sure the slides are all facing the right way, not upside down or backward.I set my Elmo timer on 5 seconds and let the carousel advance automatically. You may want to zoom in or color correct as you convert. In that case, pause your DVD recorder between slides, make your adjustments, then resume recording. This is called assembly editing. It works very smoothly and you get a better show,

I have a slide projector Kodak carousel S. The slide does not want to change! The ventilation & light work. I looked inside and it seem that there is no push from the middle of a cilinder (sorry do...

This projector was manufactured by Kodak in Stuttgart, Germany. You can check with Langie AudioVisual on East Commercial Street in East Rochester, NY. They were the last dealer I know of that still had a technician trained on the Carousel S. I don't have manuals for that model. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Neither the hand-held "clicker," nor the buttons

To be absolutely sure, I would need to know the model number/name near the handle. If it is old as you say, it is probably a broken Cycle Solenoid LINK. If this link breaks (it happens A LOT on older projectors) the cycle function will not work. This is a pretty difficult repair and subsequent adjustment. You can still get the parts online at: I believe they send install instructions with the parts. If you don't feel comfortable with the repair, you should contact an authorized warranty service dealer. Good Luck !

I have a Bell & Howell slide cube projector that has been packed away for many years. The rotating disk will not advance the slides for viewing. The disk seems stuck. I have been unable to find anyone...

I occassionaly experience the same problem. I don't know why it occurs, however; here's what I do to get the projector moving again: 1) Face the right side of the projector wherein the lens will be pointing to your right. on the middle top of the projector edge closest to you you will see a top access tab. 2) Move and hold the tab to the left and lift open the top of the projector. 3) On the edge of the rotating tray at about the 5:00 position (my guess as I'm not at the projector now) you will slot in the circular plate aligned with another slot on the fixed casing. Inside this sloted area there is a metal pieve that spans the slot across the two surfaces. 3) Take a screw driver and giggle this metal peice, pressing dow and releasing, and / or in and out, while pressing the slide advance advance forward and back. I found no ryhme or reason to this or that it readilly works after so many jiggles, however; it alsways does usually after anywherefrom a few seconds to a minute or two. This isn't a fix but a temporary workaround. I'm in the process of sulling my thousands of slide to be digitized, after which I will no longer need this wonderful legacy machine. Hope this helps. Regards,
