SOURCE: Screen is black

It could be something called an LCD inverter. Part is cheap and easy to replace. It is the chip where LCD plugs into that is the part that needs to be replaced.

Time/date won't retain

The camera's internal date/time "backup" battery is supposed to maintain the date/time for about 3 weeks with the camera turned off. If the camera is not used for a longer period, the date/time will need to be reset. If you are having to reset sooner than that, it is likely that the internal battery (not user replacable on most models) has failed.

Everytime I turn on my camera it asks me to set date/time. It goes to the default date/time setting of 00.00.0000 00:00 mm/dd/yy. What do I do to set the date/time so that it permanent? The photos are...

It takes around four hours for a freshly charged main battery to charge the internal backup battery. It you do that and it still doesn't charge it, you need a new internal battery. The fully charged internal battery in most of them will hold the charge for up to 3 weeks with the main battery out of the camera.

Konica Revio KD-400Z. Internal battery appears to have expired meaning I have to reset date etc. each time I remove either the l-ion battery or the SD for downloading. Can I fit new internal battery and...

First the bad news. Konica got out of the camera business in 2006...all service is now handled by Sony. The internal battery is not user replaceable. It is a rechargeable battery that recharges itself from the regular battery. It takes about 3 hours to accomplish this. If you remove the main battery for 24 hours, the internal completely runs down and all date and time settings are lost. If after setting them again, you don't leave the fully charged main battery in the camera for at least 3 hours, they will disappear again.

Is there an internal battery for the time and the date?

Manual says: "After installing the batteries, the set-time/date message may appear on the monitor. The clock and calendar are set in section 3 of the setup menu (p. 18)."

In fact if you replace batteries really fast (in a minute or two) and time is reset the internal battery is probably exhausted/broken. You have to decide if it is worth of repairing.

My Z1 has 6 years and the clock does't forget time. Maybe next time i'll be surprised...

My Z812 keeps telling me I need to reset the date/time every time I turn it on, even if I have just done it. Also drawing batteries very quickly (lithium, camera type)

It may only happen enter date and time if you remove the battery in the camera., If your not removing the batteru out of the camera you should not recieved that message, unless battery is out of charge or no power.

You should use this battery Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable battery KLIC-8000. This is a special battery for Z812 camera,

Note: You must also need to purchase a charger for this type of battery.
I guarantee you it will provide stable longer power for on your camera
