Question about Washing Machines
Hi, our front loader Bosch Maxx 1000 is about 7 years old. Lately it seems to stop a few minutes after the cycle starts, the light goes back to "Ready" instead of being on "active" if we press start it starts again but stops a few minutes later. Sometimes changing the type of cycle fixes it but it's very random. If someone knows what the problem can be we'll really appreciate the advice.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

i nassume you mean that motor accerates to an uncontrolled speed.
check the motor tacho - mounted at the opposite end to the pulley. tacho consists of a circular magnet surrounded by a pickup. magnet may have unscrewed itself from the motor shaft

(Posted this already, but found an AU site that sells Norwex detergent - a great product!)
We've had our Fridgidaire front load washer for 6 years now, and untilabout 2 months ago, it smelled absolutely horrible. I tried the thingsI was told to do....hot water/bleach cycle, wiping the slime from therubber seal, and leaving the door open....it didn't work.
Iwas told about Norwex laundry detergent - Norwex is a company whichproduces green cleaning products - the detergent is a quicklybiodegradable, highly concentrated powder, and all I need is 1/4 - 1/2a teaspoon per load. After about one week of using the Norwex detergentI noticed that the smell was completely gone and hasn't returned! Also, the gross slime that used to collect in the rubber seal is no longer aproblem. I've been so wonderfully amazed!
I don't know why thisdetergent fixes the smell problem, but I've talked with others who havehad the same great results with it - their smell issue was solved.Perhaps it's because it contains no animal fat products?
Anotherbenefit of the Norwex detergent is how economical it is - it comes in a2kg bag for about $25, and in a front load machine you will get approx.800 loads from it using the above mentioned quantity/load! It's reallyan amazing product! You can buy it online - www.norwexnaturallyclean.com.au (an Australian site) is a great site to buy from. Good luck with the smell!

Have one of these machines and when on the drying cycle the drum started pushing the machine around the kitchen and making a very bad sound so we stopped it before it blew up. On looking at the internal workings we can see a screw and part of the plastic housing that held it in place fell to the floor. It appears to be part of a frame that holds a metal brace in place that holds the drum in place and ensure that it joins the door to the machine. To me it looks as thought the machie is capable of washing but if we use it to dry it will damage itself and breakdown. Anyone else had this problem and any solutions.
