Hp a1737c memory modules

I need a diagram of the inside of my hp a1737c desktop please. i need to see how to properly reassemble the memory modules, processer video card, ect. my friend tried to upgrade ram, but ended up removing all memory modules and disconnecting pretty much everything. id like to see what it should actually look like so i can reassmble it. my computer has never been modified, and id just like everything back the way it originally was, before it was disassembled.

SOURCE: Where is the expansion slot for the RAM for ASUS Notebook A2400H?

The manual is incorrect. Memory is under keyboard. There is a small hole to the left of the right speaker. insert a paperclip vertically into the hole and apply a slight amount of pressure at the same time sliding the plastic section to the left. It should be obvious at this stage. then fold back keyboard. 2 memory slots are located under the plate near the middle of the unit. Specs say max of 2 x 512MB modules. they are PC2100 DDR266 200 pin SODIMM. If there is someone else reading this maybe they can tell me what the slot is for under the smaller plate to the right of the memory compartment.

Cheers.

SOURCE: Problems with Foxconn 6100K8MA-RS Motherboard memory upgrade

This is an oldtime POST code memory error. Likely that ram is either installed wrong, bad RAM or the mobo doesn't like one of the memory sticks.

Hp8 desktop bios wont boot

If you are experiencing such issues, you may want to check all your memory modules one by one to see whether or not one of your memory module is defective. To do that you would need to place the memory module in every possible slot while attempting to boot to bios. Please make sure not to touch the gold plates and also make sure your desktop is unplugged when working inside the PC.

if the first option does not work please provide more details to further debug the problem.

You may need to re-seat the memory module.

Shutdown your PC, remove the newly added memory module. and re-plug it back in, this time when you install it make sure you hear a click noise when installing it to ensure its properly installed.

I doubt you need to update the BIOS to support more memory.

Otherwise you may have a dud memory module.

When installing/removing memory ensure you are properly earthed so that you don't zap and kill the memory.

How do you install memory hp pavilion a1620n

Unplug all cables from the computer. Open the access panel (the side panel) by removing the retaining screws from the back (just a couple on that edge). Plant your feet and ground yourself to the computer (use an anti-static strap for maximum safety for your computer). Locate the memory slots. Remove old memory module if needed by pulling the clips on the ends of each memory stick out and then pushing them down. Align the new memory module so that the notches in the memory stick line up with the ridges on the slot. Push the memory module straight down until it is fully seated. The retaining clips will lock into the module when it is properly seated.

The memory will only go in one way. Do not force it - if it doesn't fit, check your alignment (try rotating the module 180 degrees). Also make sure you have the correct memory (240 pin DDR2 DIMM).

I hope this helps.

Go to any memory web site like www.4allmemory.com or HP's site and look up your model. They will list all compatable memory modules. It appears thatb your model uses DDR-400 (PC3200) from 128 MB to 1 GB modules. You will need an empty slot for each module.

INSTALL RAM UPGRADE, HP PAVILION, 8756C

You will need to purchase SDRAM (which is the RAM / Interface Type)

and installation is quite simple

Use the following steps to insert a memory module into an empty socket:

The memory configuration of channel A (the first two sockets) and channel B (the second two sockets) must be identical.

Align the memory module so the small notches on the lower edge line up with the raised marks in the socket.

  2. Push straight down on top ends of the memory module until the memory module is fully seated in the socket. The retaining clips on the ends of the socket lock into place when properly seated.
