AS 9903 Car Alarm

Sound is no longer coming from this alarm. It seems to function properly in all other areas, though. When you set the alarm then bump the vehicle, the lights flash but the alarm makes no sound. Someone said it may be a Valet Switch issue, but I don't know what the valet switch looks like for this model or where to find it. I had this alarm installed in 2003, and no longer have the manual.

SOURCE: car starter not working

look under the dash for a small silver toggle switch....this is a disable switch for the remote start portion of the system..you may have kicked it / bumped it with your foot, causing the remote start portion to be deactivated. Just flip the switch the opposite way and try again..
Also, there may have been a pin style switch installed under the hood...Check to see if it is bent or broken, if it is, simply disconnect it and insulate the wire that was going to it.
This wire is used as a safety to keep the vehicle from remote starting while the hood is up..to keep people from being injured if the remote start is activated while the engine is being worked on.
Have whatever shop installed the system replace your pinswitch if that is the problem.

SOURCE: I do not know where the button for the valet mode is.

First I would check with the installers at Circuit City as to where they would commonly install a valet switch on your model.

As for those that I have installed, their location was an area on the dash that would protect it from being accidentally bumped or hit by normal activity in the front cabin area, easily accessible from the drivers seat. So you may want to search your dash area for a little (most times BLACK) push button, it could be just under the dash or maybe in the glove box.

Good luck

SOURCE: 1999 jeep grand cherokee will not start because of alarm

Sounds like the brain quit on you, I would uninstall it or completly disconnect it and have it looked at. Make sure you reconnect the factory wires and start over. Also check the ground for the alarm as it will draw current from what ever wire it can and cause all kinds of things.

SOURCE: Hey I have a viper

Hello,
You put the key in the ignition position (2 clicks) then press the valet button. The alarm will still blare but you can start the car. Once you start the car the siren will stop. There's a time limit on this though, of about 5 seconds after the alarm first goes off.
Other say:

Turn Ignition ON

Press Valet Switch for apprx 2 - 5 seconds, L.E.D. Light should be solid ON.

Turn Ignition OFF

Alarm should be in Valet

There should be a screw like knob usually installed underneath the dash that allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm. Start there. You should find what you are looking for.

MY CAR ALARM IS ULTRA SENSITIVE

In such a situation it is best to dis- arm the alarm as it can give false signals and give you sleepless nights.
Even if the sensitivity is set to low it can cause alarm as when a large truck moves the vehicle.
Alternatively you can use the new generation alarm system with surveillance which can connect to a mobile phone if some one tries to enter your car.

dear kenny349
try to "give" 12 volts directly to the siren cables. if it works - siren ok, not - check relay, if it does not switch then propably your alarm isnt giving any kick to it. check or let check alarm unit.

My viper 2 way pager remote will not arm or disarm the alarm. it still shows a trigger when the door is open though. how do i reset the alarm remote to the vehicle?

It could be set on car #2. Press function for 8 seconds and a light next to lock should come on. If the light next to unlock and lock (two lights) then it is set to #2 car (you can operate 2 cars with one remote). All you have to do is press function again to toggle between the two cars. You want to end up with only one light showing.
So, hold function for 8 seconds, then after a light shows, release and press function until you only see the one light.

Anti-theft alarm only sounds when opening doors from the inside.

Hi, you will need to get someone with vag diagnostics to plug your car in. Someone with vag-com software.
If you were near me we can do it.
Your system probably just needs reset as this is usually the case for a lot of our customers that come to the garage with VW car alarm problems.
Once the faults are read then saved & the car cleared of all logged faults the system should be 100% unless that there is a fault in the system that will show up again.
A local dealer should have your car diagnosed in 15mins & faults cleared so it should be no longer than half an hour.
Any longer & they are milking you of a few $/£ more. Unless they are doing a full electrics run (about 40mins on laptop max)
Hope this is of help.
