SOURCE: Light Switch Schematic For Nutone Whispaire WA6500

No they shouldn't come apart. You need a new part. They are quite cheap - I have seen them anywhere from $4 to $15.

How to tell when fan relay is bad

Need a test light and the wiring schematic. Should have power and ground to the relay. Also need a "trigger" wire which activates relay to allow power to flow out and to the fan.

On light continually flashing when switced on fan not working

This is a programme mode but just can't put my finger on it this second. It isn't actually a fault. Try holding your finger on the on / off switch for 5 seconds.

Im taking out a switch in a four switch circuit

If you are planning to put 4 switches back in after the renovation, you need to make a wiring schematic of exactly how they are wired now and label each wire according to your schematic. Then when you put them back, everything will work. If you are going to use less light switches then the schematic will help with a smaller number of switches. These are 3-way switches, for your information, not regular 2-way switches!

Can i put a dimmer switch on a floor fan? i just bought an industrial-type floor fan, but i don't need that much air movement all the time, how could i wire up a dimmer or potentiometer so that i could...

A potentiometer would overheat because when you tell it to turn the power down, it basically just runs the extra power through a heating element, which will probably catch it on fire for something that large. A dimmer switch changes the voltage that goes in, and is generally meant for incandescent lights. If you wired a regular old dimmer switch up, the motor would probably sound weird, and the dimmer switch or motor would break, possibly starting a fire. It's illegal to use a regular light dimmer switch on anything but an incandescent light socket. However, you can easily find a controller that will work. Look for a fan speed controller or motor speed controller. Make sure it's rated for the correct voltage and has an amp rating not exceeded by the fan's rating. These look like a dimmer switch but are designed to deliver the power the motor needs. See link http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=70801-539-SFSQ-FH-IV&lpage=none

Red light on cook top remains on always.

Don't really need a wiring diagram, although there may be one inside switch area. (make sure to put it back again if it is there) Will need the full model number to get you the part number you need. (model number usually on a sticker near where the electrical wire enters the cook top)
Turn off power to cook top. Open cover to switches. Pull two "pilot" (usually smaller spade terminals) off the switch for the right front burner, and insulate each with a bit of electrical tape. Turn power back on to see if light now off. If yes, replace that switch. If no, replace those wires and repeat procedure with the next switch until you find the bad switch. Send a comment if you need additional help.
