When you pull the dial out, you can pull it out into two different settings. One will allow you to set the clock/time. The other will allow you to set the date (the day of the month). It took me a while to figure this out as well, even witht he manual.

Your problem is caused by the fact that the watch is 12 hours out of step.
Wind your watch forward 12 hours, reset the date if you need to and you watch will then change around midnight.
(if you need to change the date more than one day, when it has past the change time, wind it back and then forward to step the date forward. You may have to experiment to see how far past the change point (in both directions).

You should have a button above the crown which you push to change the month. The crown is a 2 position crown.....if you pul it all the way out you can set the time, but if you push it in just half way, you can change the day and date by either turning the crown backwards or forwards. Good luck
