Audio only outputs to one ear/speaker(not a headphone problem I tested them on other devices.) is it an easy fix?

Check to see if you have mono audio enables, and all cables are attached firmly and have proper contact. Otherwise, it's probably a software problem.

I just bought aThermaltake TR2 700w power supply I need to know how to connect to gateway DX4885 (LGA1150)

You need to get your Gateway owner;s manual and look at the motherboard description.
I your case the DX4885 motherboard uses a proprietary 12 pin power connector, and you cannot use the Thermaltake power supply with it.

If you are attempting to upgrade this machine so you can do gaming, etc. (presumed from your choice of a 700W psu), then give it up and buy a different computer. This Gateway was built with proprietary parts to be cheap as possible.
Here is more on the power connector, which includes instructions to modify the power cables of a standard ATX Power supply -which I do not recommend that you do yourself- take it to a knowledgeable technician. Odd motherboard power connector

How to remove front panel off my older gateway essential

if it has a molded plastic front panel, most have one version or another of plastic tabs or snaps holding it to a frame.. you just have to try to carefully pry the front away from the case with a thin tool... other types of front panels can be riveted in place and basically not can usually see what type of construction the case is by removing the side panel and looking at the front panel from the inside...

  • Remove the side panel first to make the front bezel easier to access. To remove the side panel, remove the thumbscrew from the side panel cover. If the thumbscrew is very tight you may need to use a screwdriver to loosen it.
  • Lift up the release lever to loosen the side cover. Carefully swing the panel away from the computer and lift the panel away. Set the panel aside.

Move the computer slightly forward on the desk so that the top and the bottom of the case are both accessible. Pull the bezel out and lift it free of the case. Set the front bezel aside until it is time to reassemble the unit.Read more:

DX4300-05 How to open Gateway panels

    1) Jaws of Life.

    2) Acetylene torch

Gateway Support > DX4300 series of Desktop PC > Main Support page,

Looking at the Front of the computer, is how you determine Right side, and Left side.
The Right side removes with two screws, as far as I can see.

The Left side is a little harder to tell.

Gateway Support is of no help on this one. At least that I have found. Not in User Manual, because it's generic. One size fit's all.

However looking at the Rear View, it looks like the usual style to me.
Hard to make out though, because it's painted Black.

ON the back edge of the Left Side Panel, appears to be a Thumbscrew.
Even with centerline of Power Supply fan.

But there also appears to be a type of flip lock.
Or should state; push over to the inside; a little.

Then using the Fingerpull molded handle on the Left Side Panel, pull the side panel back.

Usually there are Slots in the metal frame, of the computer case.
The side panel has Tabs that stick out, with hooked end.
Along the top, and/or along the bottom.

You pull the side panel back until it stops, then move back forward about an inch, or so. Then bring the side panel straight out.

Then post back what you see, and we'll try to figure it out together.

Remove hard drive from tower case gateway 815 gm

    Looking at the rear of the computer;
    A) Two thumbscrews to loosen, then remove the Left Side Panel.

    B) Two Philips head screws to remove for Right Side Panel.
(Designation of left/right Side Panels are looking from the Front, of the computer)

Pop the Front Cover off. WATCH the wires so they do NOT get disconnected from the motherboard!

Slide the right Side Panel back about an Inch, then lift out, and off.

Click on - Gateway Computer User Guide - in blue.

Now remove the 1 or 2 Philips head screws on the right side, that hold the Harddrive into the harddrive bay.

How Do I remove the cover from a Gateway 500 series???

    Like this Gateway SE?

On the back of the computer remove the screw from the top middle.
Now remove the screw on each outside edge, down towards the bottom.

Hold the outside shell, or computer cover. Push the inside forward.
The computer cover comes off like a shell, or bonnet.

If this is a reference to a Gateway 500X series, remove the thumb screw/s from the back of the computer, on the right side. (Right side as you are facing the back of the computer) Then slide this Side Panel towards the back of the computer.
