SOME COOLING IN FREEZER AND REFRIG SECTIONS BUT NOT NEARLY COOL E

check that the compressor is working by feeling for motor vibrations at the compressor, hot compressor unit or hot fins or back wall of the fridge
if there is not heat then the compressor is not working
call a technician as it could be a start/run capacitor failed or compressor seized
get a quote as some compressor replacements cost as much as a new fridge
check that the utility power is getting to the fridge/freezer

Hello,

When you cleaned the coil underneath did ya notice that their was air being blown out their by a fan,having clened the coil was a good start but if the fan by the compressor isn't running that divider between the ref/freezer will be hotter than normal( its normally warm and thats ok),so check that the condenser fan is running and that it seems to running at a good speed.

the damper vent door from the freezer to the refrige located between the 2 sections has frozen shut and cannot open to let cold air into the refrige from the freezer,its behind a plastic grille near the top of the units divider you should be able to hear a fan in this area too its in there open this up and defrost with a hand held hair dryer if iced over,then make sure fan is operating,then move the temperature control and see if it opens up

Check your condenser coil (should be below the refrig.). If dirty, you can clean it with a condenser brush from Home Depot or Lowe's. Turn the appliance off while cleaning. Be careful not to damage the refrigerant tubing (copper). If this doesn't solve the problem, then there may be an issue with the defrost thermostat, defrost heater(s) or the main temperature control assembly.

Contact an appliance service company.

it might be the heat unit in your freezer or the thermostat on the freezer side only tec' can tell which one is bad sorry :(

Be sure it is not overfilled. There is a circulation fan in the refrigerator compartment that if it is not operating properly or blocked, will cause what you describe.

Check the evap fan inside the panel in the freezer. Try giving it a spin and a drop of oil. Replacement fan runs about $95

Are you sure that the compressor is running? If it is and you have no cooling it sounds like you have a leak in the system and there is no gas left. Most refrigerators have a 5 year warrenty on the sealed system. If you fall into the 5 years you may want to call GE. also there is a electronic control bord that comtrols the unit that could also be defective causing the compressor not to start.
