SOURCE: Frost buildup on ice/water dispenser

Your problem is definatly caused by air entering freezer either from the ice shute flap or door not sealing correctly, try putting a bright torch in frezzer and closing door look for light escaping around edge of door, if you can see the light then change door seal, the fault cannot be anything else. SOURCE: Ice buildup around freezer door seal.

Hi, Check and see if the gasket is leaking any where. Also check and see if the door to you ice dispenser is closing. Ice/frost only builds up around the door hen there is an air leak.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further,

Thanks

SOURCE: ge mod.pde18lzpbww.defrost tray ice buildup every

Remove the rear panel inside the freezer . Defrost the drain tray whr=ere the drain hole is until water will flow down it . Hot water sometimes helps . Use a small hose inserted into the drain and blow out any debris . Get a Solid ALUMINUM wire about 9 inches long (14-16 guage) and put into the hole as far as possible without using force (bend the wire if necessary) and make a hook with the other end ahich you should hook onto the defrost heater . This ALUMINUM wire will keep the drain hole cleared of ice due to the transfer of heat from the glass defrost heater . Do not make the hook too tight for fear of breaking the glass covering on the heater .

Check the vents coming into the frig from the freezer and with the fan in the freezer blowing feel if there is any air blowing into the frig., if not then check for ice buildup in the freezer. sometimes the ice will block the fan and or vents. Defrost if there is frost and ice buildup.

Refrigerator side doesn't keep things cold, just cool, despite having it on the coldest setting and the cold vent open between the freezer. The freezer is working fine.

Look on the back wall of the freezer for a ice buildup. If there is ice you have a defrost problem. The defrost timer is in the fresh food section inside the control panel. The defrost heater and defrost thermostat are behind the freezer back panel inside the freezer.
Also check the freezer fan. If there is no ice buildup in the freezer the freezer fan motor could be bad.
