Might not find any anymore, IBM has discontinued and no longer supports the IBM 6400 series printers and or any printers at all. If you need some support or printer parts please contact me. Rory 708--597-4222
you can first try power off and power on, if that doesn't work you can try disconnecting and interfaces you may have connected to the unit like a 10/100 card or twianax card. If you don't have any of them cards attached then you might have a bad logic bd, or have a logic bd that needs reflashing. Rory 708-597-4222
Hello Edward, Have you tried reseating your memory yet? If so try disconnecting your 10/100 card and turn it on. If this doesn’t work you can also try resetting your defaults. If none of this works, it might be that you CMX has lost some of its boot configurations and needs to be reflashed or possibly fixed. Depends. If you have any questions please contact me, we offer free technical support and carry new and used IBM Printers and Parts. The IBM 6400 printer uses internal programming software that is specific to the printer based on installed interfaces and graphics options. This software resides in flash memory and when the printer is first powered on the software is executed. During this process it initializes the various processors on the controller board, initializes the optional interface cards, and then loads the necessary operating settings into dram. If the programming software becomes corrupt it will fail during startup, giving you the DC Program not valid error or a number of other error messages. The solution to this is a reflash of the printer. Unfortunately, the flash software is proprietary to IBM and they will not distribute it to anybody. The only way to get the printer reflashed is by calling IBM and having one of their engineers reflash the printer.
