Well, I have found out that the number of red light blinks is a "blink code" that indicates the nature of the fault with the TV. Usually these are various failures of internal fuses or circuit boards. There's a fair amount of information on threads at techlore.com on this, so try searching there. Teh specific codes and manuals are usually it seems under license from Sony and not available for free to the public. Sorry!

SOURCE: wont turn on
I took mine to a shop. They had to unsolder a bad chip on the main board. After they replaced it with a new chip, everything worded perfectly. They told me they do quite a lot of these. Everything else works great. This set has years of life left.

I heated up board with hair dryer through back of TV without taking back cover off. The heat was on high for approx. 5min. and was placed on right side of TV about 1/3 up from bottom.

SOURCE: Samsung 61"DLP wont turn on.
1. Your tv is on stand-by condition. First press the main power switch and then the channel button and wait for a while. If your tv does not turn on assume that problem is on the mother board.
2.The next procedure needs an expert to avoid accident, cause the most common defect in this case involve low voltage power supply ranging to 220 v and high voltage power supply to 15 to 30 kv. If your a technician you can ask me my technical support if you confirm that you do.
