Sony walkman nwze365 poor sound quality when plugged into home stereo or portable player

Maybe you are using the headphone jack on your Walkman to connect to your home stereo. Not good. I prefer a LINE OUT connector and for $130 you would expect to find one. My experience has been that some have it, some don't.

Check the headphones work ok on another device. If they are ok, the headphone socket may have been damaged.

In the headset sound is comming from only one side

There is a wire break on one side of the headphone and so you will need to check the continuity of the headphone.
The fault can be at the earpiece or the connecting jack from which it had come off.

Cannot hear out of both left and right headphones unless I twist the insert plug. Can this be fixed?

Plug another headphone in walkman to check wither headphone jack in walkman is damaged or its headphone plug.
If other headphone gives same problem then open walkman and re-solder headphone jack in circuit.
Hope this will solve your problem.

No sound coming out the headphones

Try the line out on the back of the unit and see if sound signal comes out there U must plug that into a preamp on your stereo the signal level is to low for the headphones to sound and if there is sound then u have a blown output amp in the headphones circuit!
