Oven repeatedly shuts off and "PF" appears on digital screen- Kenmore gas range. We have never used the self- cleaning option for the oven.
The code being displayed denotes "PF" for Power Failure. It could be that you have a loose connection at either the range connection in back or at the outlet where the range is plugged in. You could even have a loose wire on the breaker in your electric panel.
First, shut off the breaker to your range and then you can pull it out from the cabinet and remove the access panel on the rear of the range. Check the nuts that hold the cord terminals onto the power tabs in the range. They should be tight and clean, without corrosion or any broken strands.
Now, with the power still off at the breaker panel, check the range outlet at the floor or wall. Remove the cover screw and look at the connections to make sure they are tight and secure as well.
Sometimes Aluminum service wires are used and the connections can become "glazed" which can cause a high resistance connection. The wire should have been abraded with a wire brush and an oxide inhibitor added to prevent aluminum oxides from forming on the wire strands and the electric terminals. If yours is Aluminum, you might wish to add an oxide inhibitor to these connection points to make a better electrical connection.
After that, reinstall the cover and plug the range back in, put the range back into place and go to the electric breaker panel and carefully check the wires going to the breaker to make sure they are secure and tight. You'll need to remove the panel cover to get at the breaker screw connections, so care is needed when doing this.
Once you've done these steps, you can put everything back together and turn the power back on and see if it resolves your issue.
Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
