Well if you are sure the computer is running, then you could have a bad inverter, take a flashlight and shine it on the screen, if you see the icons and computer booting, then you have a bad inverter, go on amazon and order another LCD. also if you have a desk top monitor, connect the monitor to your laptop, then boot up your laptop, hold down the "FN" (function) button and press "F4", you should see everything on your desktop monitor.
