I have re installed my drivers for my printer. And I have tryed to clean the head mechanism by applying a few drops of windex. (this was suggested by another support tech) I also changed out the two cyan ink cartridges. I still have faint blue horizontal lines, Has anyone else had this problem with their epson stylus r2000 printer?

Photo was coming out real light, the black ink was low, so i replaced the black ink with a new one. Now the printer will not print any of the colors. Cleaned the head several times, still will not print any of the colors the photo comes out blank..

My problem is similar, but it happens with my black cartridges, and occurs mainly when printing on CDs. With plain paper, I see lines when printing a test page in "Text" quality mode, but when I bump it up to "Photo" quality, the bands go away. For CDs, the Epson Print CD program automatically sets the quality to "Best Photo" but the lines are still there when printing to CDs.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver as the guy says below (on a side note, the uninstaller claims the driver version is 6.06E, even though the Epson website only provides a driver for version 5.5A. When I installed 5.5A, the installer still said it was 6.06E). At any rate, there was no change.

I was using cartridges that were refilled by Island Inkjet. I swapped out the black cartridge with a geniune cartridge; same problem.

Followed some of the print head / nozzle cleaning instructions provided here:

    http://www.inkjetreview.ca/Articles/clog...

    Still no change.

I saw a posting somewhere saying that it could be a problem with the logic board. Considering the age of the printer, it's not worth getting this looked at. I guess I'll just use up the rest of my ink and buy a Canon later this year.

Just noticed that when printing from a PDF document, I don't get the lines! This tells me it's a driver, not a mechanical problem. (I;m assuming PDF has its own driver.) Every other print job gives me the lines.

Try re-installing the printer driver it might be caused by a virus... if not then you need somebody to clean your printers head mechanism.. the blue cartridge might have messed an ink to its circuit.

Ok... can you try to install your printer to another computer, say to a friend to test if your computer is the problem or the printer itself. If it is the same problem then the printer has a problem with its data cable... If it is clean, no faint blue prints, then you have to re-install your computer.

Why blue lines when document printing?

You need to do a head clean you should be able to find this in maintenance section of the printer program.
They get a little dry spots or dirt on the cartridge.
This is a ink eater so uses a heap of ink could take 2-3 head cleans to clean it.

Two faint white horizontal lines

the white ghost lines are down to the charge wire within the toner cartridge being dirty, the only real way forward is to replace the toner cartridge as access to the charge chorona wire is not possible without ruining the cartridge itself

The color is not printing correctly. Things are coming out mostly pink or yellow. I tried the MAINTENANCE tab. The nozzle check showed that the top section (PGBK) looked good. The second section (C)...

The printhead has either become too clogged to flush out with with the internal cleaning operation (which uses a LOT of ink), OR, the nozzles are not firing. If after several cleaning operations there is still no significant improvement, you will need to replace the print head. I see this frequently with Canon and Epson, and Brother inkjet printers. Usually, it is due to leaving the printer idle for too long, or removing a cartridge and not replacing it right away. The air gets to the residual puddle of ink in the head and dries it.

You can find the replacement print head by Google searching "MP830 print head". Prices can vary from around $70 - $90. Changing it out is fairly simple. You only need to lift a lever that holds the head in place. Make certain that it is squarely seated, and then run a few pages of a color document, or do a couple of standard cleaning operations to "prime" the head.

Make sure the hed is NEW and not used or "refurbished". Here is one source on eBay that sells it for $78.00:

Hello,
one idea is that you rouined printhead with tap water and second idea is to buy new print head or printer.
Note: If you want to replace ink head, be sure to replace purge unit and ink absorber also.

Hi, my Epson 2100 is printing with faint lines at regular intervals right across the page. I've done various alignment tests and cleaning tests but can't seem to clear the lines. Any advice much...

Are your alignment tests show good results? If they are, try head cleaning 3 consecutive times without printing nozzle checks. After 3 head cleanings do the nozzle check. If problem persists try printing at BEST PHOTO or whatever is the slowest print setting for your printer. Good luck!

HP 7110 still won't print in color

Your post "...it prints very faint horizontal lines in color..." is indicative that indeed your color printheads are clogged and would need repetitive deep head cleaning. This is of course would require that you keep on cleaning until such time as the faint color lines have turned to legible print.

I have blank lines through my printouts

Run the cleaning cycle. If that doesn't work, try to use an alcohol soaked swab on the print head. Some of the jets are clogged.

Do you use original genuine cartridges or refilled ones. It sounds like you have had a leak and need to completely clean out your printer heads, rollers and perhaps do a deep claean as well. You can buy faulty cartridges and toners that have one leak, then the ink continually leaves traces as it prints. When you say callibrated, do you mean you ran print tests and setting tests. Running a print test can often help to diagnose ink issues an d narrow the results down a bit. After a thorough clean, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling unit.
