I have a delta tub/shower faucet where the diverter for the shower head is located just below the single knob faucet control rather than on the tub spout like is typical in many old style faucets. When the water is turned on, water leaks out the diverter pull knob; when the diverter is pulled to activate the shower head, a strong stream of water shoots out from the diverter - it's kinda like a body wash! How do I remove the escutcheon plate behind the water control knob to troubleshoot this problem?
Remove hot/cold button in handle, remove screw/pull off handle. Remove the two screws in the wall plate/remove plate. Use a wrench to remove the diverter assembly. Get new diverter assy and reinstall eveything. You don't need to turn off the water.

my tub stop will not come out. I believe it is a moen. I can unscrew the top but then nothing. There isn't a slot for a screwdriver and I can not unscrew it to the right as I would assume. Thanks for any help
