Flashing err on nikon n50

Hi Jennifer,
Not too sure what that is, but first thing I would check is that you lens is set to its smallest aperture, such as f/22. Many times that err message means the lens is not closed down all the way. After closing the lens down the camera dials will set the aperture. Also, on many Nikon D type lens, not the G type, there is a small push pull button to lock the lens as it smallest opening.

Cordially,

When I try to take a picture it says

Download any pics from the internal memory that you want to save. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" or "initialize"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and see if things improve. You may need to do the same procedure with the card.

On the screen it shows ERR and what looks similar to a recycling sign and then it says MIN under that sign.... can you help??

Check to make sure the aperture ring on the lens is set all the way on the highest f number. (it's usually red)

That problem is in your manual's troubleshooting matrix.

When camera is turned on Err show on the screen.

The 'Err' message comes from the lens. Check to see that the aperture ring is correctly set on your lens.

(E) flashing err on Nikon N50, tried everything I can think of.

The lens aperture ring will need to be set to the largest number, and locked to that point. This allows the camera to control the aperture as it needs. If you have changed lenses to something other than what came with the camera this could also be the problem. Again make sure the aperture is set on the largest number and the problem should go away.

Flashes Err followed by a circular symbol with min under symbol

The lens is set incorrectly. Set the aperture ring on the lens to f22 or 32 what ever the biggest number is on that aperture ring and lock it. It would work now.

Err min Message

This can happen if you are using a non-G lens, without the lens aperture being set to the minimum aperture and locked.

Error message

Hey there deliafuentes, I would suggest you check your film to ensure it is seated correctly and fed across to the orange line inside the winding post on the right side of the open back of the camera. If this is not the problem, I would check the settings to ensure you are not in a protection mode which will prevent you from snapping a picture which is not properly focused or without the necessary light required. Try turning off the auto features to test the possibility. Another option is the batteries may have insuffient power to drive the features which you are using. Switch to a new set, preferrably not rechargeable or generic. Good Luck!

Before the heart attack, check your lens. I believe its the D series lenses that need to be set to all the way open. I get this "err" alot, and then look down to see that Ive rotated the appature.
