This is the first time I'm using my Mr Coffee Frappe maker and after plugging in the machine and pushing the power button, nothing happens. Should the red light come on right away?

yes you should get some kind of power indicated that power is on the machine i would first check the circuit breaker and then assure that you have power coming out of the outlet after which you could then use a multimeter to folow where you do have power going to sometimes it could also be a bad switch on the unit itself but first assure where you do have power going to and any further questions message me back Thanks Rick

Replaced Oreck power switch. 2 black leads and 1 white lead for switch. Posts marked 1, 2, and 3. 2 black wires to switch powers on. Connect white wire and breaker trips. Where does the white wire go?

Both black go to the switch. Power in - black to switch / white to white from motor.
From motor - black to switch / white to white from power cord
The black wire from the power hooks to the off end of the switch and the black wire from the motor hooks to the on end. Third post is not used. The two white wires are connected to each other with a small twist on wire nut.

When I disconnect the power nozzle on my central vac I have no power for the accessory items

If there's power to the power nozzle, there's power going to the powered accessories, as well. The problem must be due to a defective/broken "item". It could be a loose wire, a switch, or the accessory motor. It needs to be replaced, or taken in to an authorized shop for repair.

Try checking the hose connector cord (short cord from bezel outlet to hose). Also, check the prongs on on extension wands.

Doesn't go on

it could be the switch they do fail. i would test the power do you or someone you know how to use a multimeter if so test the wires for power in the on and off position if it has power to both sides of the switch than it is for sure good if not its bad, if its good test and see if you have power to the motor if it does then the motor is bad if not test power to all items along the wire until you find the place where the power stops and that will be your bad part.
