SOURCE: I use an azur intregrated amp 540A and a Azur Pre

I've never repaired one of these but I have an amp at home that makes a intermittent static "popping" noise that i'm going to put down to a dirty volume pot (control) that needs cleaning. I will also have to change some of the electro capacitors that have dried up inside which cause "shot noise". With the right lubricant (electrical contact cleaner, nothing else) you could take to lid off and spray a small 1 second blast into the hole of the pot and any other balance or tone control yourself but I would take it to the electronics repairer to get the capacitors checked over.
My theory only
Good Luck!

How do I connect a graphic equalizer to a Cambridge audio 851 amplifier?

I found only an 851A amp - I hope it is what you have or very similar. You can add an equalizer (or tape recorder for that matter) easily by making use of the amplifier's "Record In" & "Record Out" jacks. The amplifier's "Record Out" jacks should be patched to the equalizer's "In" jacks and the amplifier's "Record In" should be patched to the equalizer's "Out" jacks.

On the amp, select your source (1, 2, etc.) as usual. Press the "Rec In" button to divert the stereo source signals to the equalizer for customized shaping before being amplified - press again to bypass the equalizer and send the source stereo signals directly to the amplifier - and speakers.

How To Bi-Amp And Bi-Wire Speakers!

What is the difference between bi-wiring and bi-amping?
Bi-wiring is using the same power source (amplifier) but separately connecting that power source to a woofer and a midrange/tweeter on a speaker.

Bi-amping is using two separate power sources (amplifiers) and connecting one amplifier to a woofer and the other amplifier to a midrange/tweeter on a speaker.

How do I bi-wire?
Your speaker must have two separate positive and negative connections (one set for the woofer and one set for the midrange/tweeter). Connect one wire between the positive terminal on the amplifier/receiver the positive terminal on the speaker. Connect the other wire from the negative terminal on the amplifier/receiver to the corresponding negative terminal on the speaker. Remove the jumper straps connecting the two sets of speaker inputs. Repeat this process for the second set of terminals on the speaker, connecting them to the same positive and negative terminals on the receiver/amplifier. Repeat the steps for each speaker you wish to Bi-Wire, connecting them to the appropriate terminals on your receiver/amplifier.

How do I bi-amp?
Bi-amping is similar to bi-wiring, but involves separate amplifiers: one for the woofer and one for the midrange/tweeter. Passive bi-amping involves a direct hookup between each amplifier and the speaker terminals. True bi-amping involves hooking the preamp to an electronic crossover that replaces the passive crossover network in the speaker. The active crossover then connects to multiple power amplifiers.

I have Xavian xn125 speakers. How do I connect them in a bi-wired or bi-amp

Bi-wiring basically works wtih one amp. You need a crossover network and a signal doubler to use two amps (bi-amping). There are many diffent ways to bi-amp (horizontal, vertical,...) This link: - -http://www.soundstage.com/synergize/synergize031998.htm-- explains them all. Bi amping is usually not worth the extra price and complexity when used on smaller speakers.

Azur 840A Clipping

CLIPPING occurs when the level of sound is way too high.
Try changing the speaker-wires -- you may have a short-circuit someplace in the wires that is causing "feedback".

The built in speakers on my gogear 8gb mp4 player is not working. i've been using it for almost 2 years now :(

My ENT doctor said no more ear buds, no more ear phone so I Amazon purchase another GOGEAR Ariaz because they have an external speaker, or so I thought.

I tried all to get the speaker ARIAZ 16 gig to work. Nothing. Speaker does not work. The instruction manual that comes right on my 16 gig GoGear Ariaz is for titled GoGear AZURE!

AZURE! Where did that come from? The Azure manual does not show a speaker. Go figure. I do not think my Ariaz-Azure has a speaker. It does have Bluetooth that works for me OK with a Philips external Blue Tooth Speaker. No ENT correct external speaker on the player itself? Or am I wrong.

The tiny, tiny micro writing label on my "GOGEAR Ariaz" is a label for "SA5AZU16KF/37. Even though the Logo on the case of the GoGear is imprinted ARIAZ!

If I am wrong and my Philips Azure???-Ariaz has a speaker I would be pleased to know how to make the speaker work.

PS, I do own a GoGear ARIAZ 8G, and it does have a speaker that works for me.

Sabve your money - it's BUY-wiring.

Bi-wiring does nothing but make you use twice as much speaker wire for the same electrical effect. Bi-amping assumes there are deficiencies in your electronics that must be worked around, again by using more speaker wire and separate amps.

Do some reading on the web about "bi-wiring".

Protection overload and the system shuts off

Reasons: 1. Short in the wire, speaker, or amplifier 2. Amplifier malfunction 3. Overload of the amplifier 4. Overload of the speaker
Listening to audio at loud levels requires more power obviously. But the speakers and amplifier may not be rated or capable to handle it due to age or design.

Bi-Amping my speakers with HTR-5850

You can at a minimum, bi-wire your speakers by wiring the speakers with the A and B speaker outputs. The A speaker outputs end up running the tweeters and the B will end up powering the woofers.
